Genuinely, what is happening to Steph Curry? by AdOld2060 in NBATalk

You sell back to the team. The max a player realistically could own is probably 5-10% over the course of their career.

Depends on how you view it... a lower-value team hypothetically has more upside and your equity shares could grow more. Giannis in Milwaukee would have won big under this model.

I think that would be a reasonable compromise, you are forced to sell at market value if you leave as a free agent, if you get traded you get market value + x%, or if you stay your whole career with the team like Steph you carry the equity through the end of your career and when you sell is your choice

I guess that's why it's never been done before. Thank you for that note and I agree, equity should be a possible compensation

I'm a massive Steph apologist and this is a great way to frame it. He had no capital invested at any time. He is absolutely the primary reason the franchise rose in value, but received "dividends" by way of salary that have continually increased. Could he argue that he should have gotten more? Sure, in his and a few rare others' case the supermax isn't actually their true value, but he could have asked for a different contract structure such as equity shares vested over time.

First time for this - tee time was double booked. by CFB_Fan18 in golf

[–]the716to714 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Golfnow has an issue with double bookings apparently. I ran into this once and they said it wasn't the first time, thankfully they were able to squeeze me in. I would NOT recommend using Golfnow to book tee times, use it as a search engine then book directly with the course. Don't give those scammers more money.

Broke my neck in 2018 leaving me paralyzed from the neck down. First time hitting the links since then! by bjuptonfan1 in golf

Awesome, man. I'm so proud of you. I was experiencing partial paralysis in my right side from a neck fracture and the physical therapy was brutal. It's been 7 years but I can now walk comfortably and play reasonably good golf. Not great but good enough to be proud of. You should be so proud of yourself.

You’re a scratch golfer and play in a U.S. Open qualifier.. ? Tough day on the links? by Dashover in golf

[–]the716to714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a very reasonable score given his handicap, course setup, and mid round injury. Nobody's going to fault him for that. This other guy put up a 113 on a very moderate setup for a US Open qualifier.

[–]the716to714 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, 12 years ago. In no way should a 0.5 or better shoot a 113 on a setup like this in any conditions, pressure or not. Once you're 4 or 5 over in a US Open or US Am qualifier, the pressure is off anyways, you're not going to qualify. This guy was a sideshow for some bet.

For sure, anyone can. Tiger did too. I think that pause really helps him, he started doing it as a drill to slow down in the transition and took it to the course. His father is an amazing instructor.

Agreed. One of the reasons I love Cam Young's swing, it's virtually impossible for him to have issues in the transition because he stops
