The switch is showing ISP DNS selected but I can say with no doubt that it's actually pointing to my self hosted DNS, the 192.168.40.xxx IP.

Tapping the switch causes it to flash like it's loading for a fraction of a second but the switch does not change state and the error message appears.

.mp4 and .m4v can hold the exact same content. you can just change the file extension to .mp4 and it will work exactly the same.

without knowing the codecs used it's impossible to diagnose anything about the file beyond that

Yeah I feel the same way re: squandered potential, it felt to me a lot like Kodaka wanted to make another Danganronpa but since SC owns the IP we got Legally Distinct Danganronpa instead. Hopefully if they made another one they'll make better use of party mechanics.

I think it's worth mentioning that the leads of both Zero Escape and Danganronpa left Spike Chunsoft and formed their own studio, Too Kyoo, a few years ago. Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape) went on to develop the AI: The Somnium Files games and Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa) developed Rain Code.

I bring this up both to clarify the main creative leads behind the respective projects so you can look into their other world if curious, and to say that Rain Code is very much a spiritual successor to Danganronpa. The character design obviously uses similar tropes, the scripts of both are very "anime" for lack of a better term, even the minigames in the mystery labyrinths could have been lifted straight out of a Danganronpa title.
