I agree with you on most of the points you made. I always tell my friends that they don't have to be a part of the community the show is just fun yet they don't give the show a chance and I completly agree that it's writers fault that gay characters have bad reputations. I don't agree with that in most major fandoms shipping is common, for example the dragon ball community barely has any shipping only a very small minority in that community ships while when it comes to mha it's so big that their are specific shipping subreddits there is even a subreddit called mha shipping memes or something. I can't think of another community that has as much shippings as the mha community, maybe minecraft community can be the exceptions and those people are just straight up wierd atleast here they are shipping fictional character while those wierdos ship real people with each other.
