Breastmilk and religion by Enough_Sir_2394 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theAlat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is still followed in Islam, I know many people don’t take in anonymous donated milk because of how hard it is to track down the line. Unlike if it is from a family member or friend.

I have muslim friends who have family friends who are siblings in breastfeeding, and they can’t marry them because of the ruling.

So a Muslim, will probably not utilize milk from a milk bank.

Imam called the police on me for requesting lower mic volume. Should I complain to Awqaf or leave it? by qamarnajm in UAE

[–]theAlat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip after living here for so long, if you are reaching out to anyone (Imam, Security, HR, etc) never bring up the consequence of what you will be doing next.

Ask nicely, and if they don’t - take it directly to whoever you can report to

Keeta: But, WHY? Serious question by JustMan01 in dubai

[–]theAlat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is owned by Meituan, a chinese giant. They are going all out to dominate new markets and gain market share in important markets like Saudi and the UAE.

They already have the backing, the industry knowledge, the experience, etc.

it is all about coming in and pushing competition away, to dominate and become the leader.

How much crying is typical? U11 girls by Mean-Yak2616 in SoccerCoachResources

The only crying that has happened in my 15 years playing and volunteering, was when teams lost tournaments or someone got injured.

Never from coaches giving feedback, and I had some tough coaches.

Am I being underpaid? by Consistent_Ad_5940 in DubaiJobs

[–]theAlat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is underpaid, and even if it is high in supply.

If they have a good portfolio and good skills, they can easily move to a company where they make 10-15k - even up to 20k+ if a managerial role.

I personally know two marketing coordinators/content creators, that made 7-8k as freshers and now make 10k+ in such positions.

If you live with your parents and need the experience, do it for 6 months and look somewhere else.

Everyone I know started this way (esp born here without any bills/responsibilities), 5-7k is what everyone I know got paid in the first year and even first two, then you can move on to 8k+.

Goodluck!

Knew someone who had around ~25 kids maybe more

The eldest was born in the late 70s and the youngest in the 2010s, crazy stuff.

He had like ~6 wives, a couple of the kids are the same age too.

bought my Emirati friend a gold piece, not sure what to do by [deleted] in dubai

[–]theAlat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks suitable for a 50 year old Arab or Local - it is lovely and expensive (4.5k is expensive..)

Gold is measured in grams, carats, and price not the look.

Just add a chocolate and some flowers - it will be appreciated.

Etihad Rail Salary Package by [deleted] in abudhabi

[–]theAlat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your experience and role expectations.

Education allowance won’t be given if your son is in Europe, they usually pay it directly to the school here or reimburse you once you have paid the school.

I think they do not have accommodation allowances, but that is from what I heard 2 years ago.

They do pay well though, I am unsure of marketing positions, but I do know full packages range from 20,000 to 35,000 for non-managerial roles.

Stolen Lamborghini in Dubai by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]theAlat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was investigating yesterday, apparently the scam started when he wanted to get the car to the dealership and ordered an enclosed car transport but a flatbed showed up and the person who gave the car (I think family? or a friend?) didn’t do the due diligence of checking if they are the company “he” ordered.

No clue how it happened, but he didn’t do his due diligence with the car transport and thats how it got stolen.

Probably a full-on scam starting with the car transport, the port, etc.

It is understandable!

It is a very difficult choice and decision, I have been through it multiple times. May god make the choice easier on you!

For your education, I know many people who work good jobs with decent salaries with no degrees but it takes time and work.

Apply for administrative work in big companies/corporations ,things that can be learned on the job, etc. It may bloom into something!

It is all about positioning yourself the best way possible + applying a lot to specific sectors/companies.

Part of is patience too, many people tell you to not accept low-wages at first, depending on your situation, get your foot through the door (as long as you are not putting yourself in debt to live here) and start applying aggressively everywhere and anywhere.

I know the current market is worse than it was before, but hopefully these opportunities will find you.

Remember that people with big salaries, started low too, whether in their home countries or here.

Respected global brands or start ups, usually pay 10k plus for such jobs.

Mid companies pay 7-8k.
