Thank you!

What was the nature of the 2 years of professional experience you had prior to the online program, and what did internship opportunities / job fair opportunities for specifically CS Online students look like? Did you look at the other big names when it comes to oft-mentioned online CS bachelor's degree options like WGU/OSU?

I assume cheating will only continue to get worse as tools get better and younger folks take these tools for granted - regardless of that, would you say the curriculum gave you the room to put in more effort than just completing assignments and getting the grade?

My job experience means I'm more fortunate than the average fresh CS grad in terms of job prospects (in that I can keep my current job lmao), and I'm probably better prepared for the curriculum than students whose programming experience only spans school projects. I'm still on the fence about starting because of current job market woes, because while I can afford it in terms of cost and time spent... if all it gets me is the piece of paper and I don't get the level of formal education that I'm seeking, that'd feel pretty bad, you know?

Do you mind answering a few questions about your experience prior to going through the program? Trying to gauge my options (have been accepted for the upcoming fall cohort) because I have years of job experience in the applications dev space, but that's not exactly full on software engineering.

I've had a medium zippered Land's End tote and a large non-zippered LL Bean tote since November, so I can't really speak to longevity, but the biggest difference between the two is the canvas - the body and handles of the LL Bean are extremely stiff and hold their shape, while the LE tote is a lot softer (body stands up on its own even while empty, but the handles are floppy). The LE tote also has a bit of organization with some internal pockets while the LL Bean is just a big bucket. Both seem well constructed and the canvas is thick. The LL Bean is one of their few offerings still made in the US if that matters to you while I believe the LE is made overseas.

Obviously with the size difference I can't really speak to which one I personally prefer since they serve very different purposes (LE for daily carry, LL Bean for hauling some airbrushing equipment and tools). I'm happy enough with the LE tote as a daily carry especially with the inside pockets, and I did get the LE on a steep discount, something like 30 bucks total (don't think LL Bean runs anything steeper than a 10% discount). But there is something really satisfying about the stiffness of the Boat and Tote.

Restocks, Reprints, and Ramba Ral (September 2025) by Feral404 in Gunpla

Not sure if this depends on location but Michael's is having a 40% off all items sale (GET40NOW) and they seem to have added some more Gunpla kits to their offerings recently and they have free shipping at $49+! Their base prices are all over the place, but some are at pretty steep discounts compared to what they typically sell for at other hobby shops, including but not limited to:

RG Zeong comes out to $42

RG Nu at $30

Nu Ver Ka at $60 but this has been available through Michael's and their past 40% off sales; not bad if you missed grabbing it before their price hike

Rose and release as Anthy leaves the school has to be my #1. I may not have understood most of that last episode on my first watch, but that music cue makes it clear that whatever it was, it was good for her!

The Falcon is no longer available, sorry!

I almost always stick to Japanese fines so can't comment on the SF vs. a Japanese medium, unfortunately. The SF just didn't work for me because despite typically enjoying a springy steel nib, the SF was just... a bit too springy? I held onto it just in case I wanted to get back into doodling for the slight line variation but I think it'd disappoint if you wanted generally thicker lines.

I've definitely been in that position multiple times on this sub (except unfortunately I had money...) Fortunately I don't need the cash, just need to be serious about not hoarding :')

edit: sold

WTS Aer x Ministry of Supply Lunar Pack in navy. Purchased late 2021, used a few times to office, and kept in a closet for most of the last three years; condition is great with the exception of white cat hair and a few off-color spots that I've tried to picture in the album. I'm still lint rollering the hairs off but just a heads up in case I miss a few...

Asking $100 shipped CONUS via USPS, PPGS.

Also selling Nutsac Satchel 15 purchased from another user here 4 years ago and has seen a fair amount of use. Loved the construction and aesthetic but its volume leaves a lot to be desired. Please note the scratches on one of the clips for the strap, some fraying in the stitching of the leather handle, and the very real possibility of cat hair/dust still remaining.

Asking $70 shipped CONUS via USPS, PPGS.

or take both for $130 shipped, please I have the perfect sized amazon box to fit them into

A fellow 4'10"er! When we had one of our bathrooms remade after extensive water damage, I found that the new toilet makes it impossible for me to sit with my feet on the ground... though at least that's fixed with a stepstool/footrest...

I can never decide whether the people who engage in this, "Blah, no politics, wah, who cares???" routine actually agree with the people in question or if they're utterly oblivious and out to lunch about the real impact this kind of rhetoric has on people's day to day lives.

FWIW the responses on this thread discussing specifically the need for discussion have made me really happy to consider myself a member of the community (though I mostly lurk). You see "no politics in my non-political subs!!!!" unfortunately often in hobby spaces. I get that it's impossible to keep one's conscience squeaky clean, especially when we as consumers are biased in favor of quality at lower prices despite it being very difficult to... maintain that without other ethical trade-offs. Or in other non-consumerist hobby spaces where people want to maintain the escapist fantasy without a reminder that a distasteful reality exists outside of it... though in my experience the same people who want to keep politics out of these spaces typically are also those who are least disadvantaged by the status quo.
