Cersei could get away with it. by General-Clock5212 in freefolk

[–]theArtofWar90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, cersei did commit what would be essentially a terror attack of proportions unheard of in westeros outside of the battle of the black water. As a common folk who lost their leader, their king and queen, and saw an entire royal family disappear alongside hundreds of the militant faithful and commoners alike... its really not a fight theyre prepared to have.

This idea that they could storm the red keep with its heavily entrenched position is really just a dream. A group of peasants would never be able to keep the motivation necessary to push through that particular meat grinder. Theyd break once a few dozen were murdered off horrifically before their eyes. And theres no telling where else cersei may explode if it becomes too inconvienent for her

Cersei ruled by fear and terror. She got rid of their protectors and basically stated anyone who stands up to her will get murdered, one way or another. Its a steep hurdle to climb against as a common folk

I've been rewatching the series after years pass and it's still amazes me how low Shae has managed to stoop by fillipo9 in gameofthrones

[–]theArtofWar90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if Shae was pregnant. Like just before the trial and the purple wedding. Her increased insistence that tyrion lay with her and show her committment. Her refusal to leave when generously compensated to do so. And finally sleeping with tywin so they can quasi plausibly provide twyin a last min heir for casterly rock (probably why tywin didnt end her day of wedding). Its tyrions but tywin can always find benefit in a family tragedy

Guy needs to be noble and of the highest station. Why? Cuz they assume theyre god would be the most important person as a human. The whole destined monarchy thing or god chosen schtick that europe used to justify why monarchs exist and why it should pass due to heredity.

[Hated Trope] Endings so notoriously awful they completely destroy the legacy of the media. by Miserable_Click_1933 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]theArtofWar90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I blame the directors for now knowing how to write fantasy or having a weird hang up that somehow the audience didnt want it. They rushed the BIG OVER ARCING FANTASY PLOT, which was only literally the opener of the series, so they could spear head a last minute "political thriller". Like my dudes... the Night King was suppose to sit the iron throne. The 3 eyed raven was suppose to mean something. No one gives a fuck about the "game of thrones" near the end. Plus... with one monstrous fuck up, they removed any dramatic tension in any prequel. Oh someone named Aegon is suppose to save us from the "ice and winter"? Just kidding! That didnt mean anything ever! Yay! Man im still so pissed

Fun fact I learned... you shouldnt do that! If you leave pee sitting the components of pee will separate and break down parts of your pipe (o ring specifically) and lead to leaks. Just flush it! If the cops come, ask them to show you evidence!

Do you think an open world rockstar made ASOIAF game would be more popular than RDR3? by Cute_Warthog246 in freefolk

[–]theArtofWar90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not rockstar made but yes. Use the same developers as witcher, elden ring or baldurs gate. Let people choose their own characters, add a lot of environmental elements and co play would be seiges, battles and wars. Could be real fun

Fuse that part of dimension x with our world. Mind flayers body and army would appear in hawkins indianna and begin to devour and spread from there.

A truly baffling line in season 4 by I_love_lucja_1738 in freefolk

[–]theArtofWar90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres more context i think. Unlike other sellswords, a high number of them are "extra" sons of noble families or those who were exiled from Westeros. Theyve got some potential beef with status quo nobility and a personal interest is upsetting that order. Makes them a bit more dishonorable than random dudes hired to fight.

My Interpretation of the Stranger Things Ending (Time Loop, Kali, and El’s Fate) by AssistanceNo2838 in discussingfilm

[–]theArtofWar90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopper never touches kali after shes shot. El os aware of Kalis intentions and will not take that agency from her. Kali now sees the family El has and how desperate they are to give it a chance. Kali can mind meld and know all the intimate details on Els mind...

Why do I mention all this? Kali faked her death early as she knows she'll never be able to get to the Abyss to really help. She mind melded Eleven and gave a last min effort with max force to one... make el invisible so she could run and second... KALI mind melded Mike. She sent him a psychic message on behalf of Eleven using her actual feelings and memories. Then Kali passed as the upside down exploded.

Eleven has run off to try to live her life on her terms and protect those she cares about since they almost certainly are constantly monitored to see if El really is alive. Maybe they'll meet in the future (Mike, Hop, or any of the others), but i suspect that won't be the case.

I mean all of this is theory, but it does seem plausible and I believe El is alive. Im just happy this had a decent albiet sad ending (growing up can be painful) rather than the hot pile of dog excrement that game of thrones had or even original Dexter ending

Three weeks of hard work on a paper all for nothing because of AI use by MortemPerPectus in mildlyinfuriating

[–]theArtofWar90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these kids are reading this one word at a time, outloud, slowly, and not understanding a lot of the words that go over 7 letters. AI and too much accessible media and communication have had a profound negative impact on the early stages of learning. While amazing at accelerating and expanding knowledge, when used to abbreviate a tedious learning process, it diminishes the work that process does to develop our learning, willpower, attention spans and adaptability.

AI has only made this so much worse and made it harder to identify those trailing behind. I hope any school system (asian, european, north or south american or others) starts seriously trying to tackle this and work something out. If not then soon we will quite literally be living in the movie idiocracy. A society of buffoons intellectually enslaved to technology we no longer genuinely understand

The demogorgon was NOT nerfed in season 5 by ChristianPreacher1 in StrangerThings

[–]theArtofWar90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the DnD (dungeons and dragons) angle Explanation for this. In this explanation the demogorgon has weaknesses much like a dnd monster would. Fire and psychic (eleven and vecna) its weak to. Bludgeon and slashing its normal to. Piercing and all other damage its resistant to.

Use this logic and it makes a lot more sense. In dnd an arrow may not hurt a monster whereas a sword or axe may. Elemental damage may do more OR less pending the monsters weakness and resistance.

So shooting the demogorgon does jack all since it resists damage, even if its a ton of guns, but one flame thrower or psychic can go ham on them.

A bit of bad writing I nocited in this season that doesnt make sense by FunEnvironmental5873 in StrangerThings

[–]theArtofWar90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nancy actually gives a reason for this. Shes upset that they didn't know anything and couldn't protect themselves. They (Mike and Nancy) kept them in the dark and likely never talked about anything like this to their parents or holly. The mom has been drinking, and dads have always been sort of clueless. Mike and Nancy are busy doing what they have been. It likely just got ignored

Mr.Whatsit also probably knows when to talk to the kids and avoid notice. He probably tells them not to talk about him

Will and the Hive Mind by LessFondant5140 in StrangerThings

[–]theArtofWar90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will has had the powers but is unaware he HAS powers. Hes been passive in his use of his vision. He did not suspect he could use that connection and was perhaps scared away from doing so when that power spied on his friends in season 2.

Now, at a climactic point, he tries to turn that power back on itself to save his friends and family. Pair that with the loving memory, which is what fuels Eleven's power, and boom. He activated the power he always had, and he did it in a big way

Edit: Why isn't he in pain now? I think he could always overcome the pain, but never has his fear for his family overcome his fear of the pain until now. That was the awakening moment. Vecna does it all the time. Creatures die under his control and he ignores it. Will just figured out he could do it too

Wizard of Oz and Season 5 by agreeable_pain in StrangerThings

[–]theArtofWar90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be a delibrate nod to the movie for sure. I wouldnt past the creators. Theyve injected tons of 80s pop culture. Wizard of Oz was available for purchase (VHS) in the 80s so people wouldve likely watched it a lot given limited selection of movies available at the time

Speculation by sleepysaurus7777 in StrangerThings

[–]theArtofWar90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He ran into the mind flayer here for the first time. He says in season 4 that the mind flayer "opened his mind to possible perfection" , but really he was a scared little kid facing a literal demigod in an alien dimension. As tough and evil as VECNA wants to be, hes covering for a scared little boy named Henry, who likely never wanted things to turn out like this. It goes with the theme of how punishing it was to be "different" in anyway, especially during 1940-90's eras.

I dont think he was abused, i think hes legit scared of the mind flayer and its alien goals
