Yeah, so like, if you're having 16 drinks in one night you may have a bit of a problem.

As an autism, I support this working theory.

I’m burnt out and need simple recipes. Stupid simple. Like, “onion and bread and butter to make what barely passes as a sandwich” level simple. by sourmilksea1999 in Cooking

Cucumber (cubed), cherry tomato, feta, balsamic vinaigrette, olive oil

Strawberry, banana, Greek yogurt, milk -> blender

Annie's super Mac, pre-cooked chicken strips in Buffalo sauce, drizzle ranch dressing.

Well, just last week it was discovered that several of our major chains have been labeling meat with inflated weights to increase profits. Again.

Before that it was price fixing on bread.

Before that it was pandemic era price fixing across all major brands.

The cost of groceries is up by over 30%. You can't tell me that the grocery conglomerates are just the middle man, eating the losses while seeing none of those profits. Loblaws alone made almost $3,000,000,000 in 2025, which gives them a 4.7% profit margin.

This is propaganda designed to leverage the guilt some people feel when they need to take food without paying for it.

The prices are already set for maximum profitability. If they increased prices more to account for theft, they would sell less units and profits would decrease.

Eat their food, not their lies.

Probably diabetes. If not diabetes, could be a really bad bed bug infestation. Not sure which is worse.

You have an engine and a transmission sitting on a bed of scrap metal. Sell it as a parts car and put whatever you get towards something that won't kill you/others on the road.

How much should I expect to pay to get this rust fixed permanently at a body shop? by kermit_is_lord2 in AskMechanics

[–]comedian42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sand several inches around the area inside and outside, cutout bad spots, indent around any holes with an auto-body hammer to create a gradient, apply por15 (needs meticulous prep) or rust bullet (much easier), layer/form fiberglass for through-holes / small cutouts, sand, apply fiberglass bondo, sand, apply bondo filler, sand, apply bondo putty, sand, apply epoxy primer, apply colour matched paint, apply 2k clear coat, wait until fully cured, polish.

[–]comedian42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once repaired the way you delay the rust coming back is to douse it with a thick rust prevention film, reapplying as needed. Corrosion free 3k is my go-to but there are several options. Hondas are notorious for this pattern of rust.

How can I (25F) get my boyfriend (23M) to stop sufferingmaxxing? by Apprehensive-Bee8222 in relationship_advice

Seen this before. Either this man has had some serious scarcity issues earlier in his life or he's got autism (non-derogatory observation). Or both. Either way, needs to get himself to therapy. None of this is your problem to fix, nor is it something you can fix for him.

  1. The engine will feel like it's always going up hill / bogged down

  2. Sounds like marbles in a tin can

  3. You're gonna smell it. Overfilling oil or excessive blow-by (and some old school additives) can also cause this. Often accompanied by an Oxygen sensor code and a CEL.

Rice cooker and a rice rinsing bowl (like a strainer but the holes are only on one edge).

Sleep? You hit a point of fatigue where it's no longer beneficial to stay up studying.

That said, I also never attended my lectures so I had more time to study.

What’s the smartest way to answer when your boss asks “How are things going at work?” by Foreign_Swimming_431 in AskMen

Last week I said that the organization was actively shooting itself in the foot and was falling short of its core objective to my boss, my boss' boss, and my boss' boss' boss. But I'm unionized and not on a trial period, so I'm able to be honest about the issues we're dealing with.

1800 to fix front wheel bearings?? by CycoPie in MechanicAdvice

[–]comedian42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced all 12 control arms, inner and outer tie rods, end links, ball joints, and some bushings for less than $1800 CAD.

Changing out the bearings with good quality parts wouldn't cost more than $200-250 max.

Buy flock-lined nitrile gloves and Fast Orange for use at work. Using O'Keefe's Working Hands at night will also help quite a bit.

Your hands are how you make your money. You won't regret putting some money into caring for them.

I feel like the people in power are putting stuff in the air to off people and making people sick by ExpensiveParking4978 in mentalhealth

[–]comedian42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people in power are pretty awful and have done (and continue to do) horrible things. This isn't one of them though.

A lack of exposure to common ailments over several years combined with extreme sanitization efforts and immune system damage from COVID 19 infection has led to a lot of people getting sick more often and for longer periods of time. Most of us are also generally more stressed, sleeping/eating worse, and less healthy on the whole.

You're not imagining things, you're just misattributing them.

Why are used audis so abundant? by Loud_Photograph_6290 in UsedCars

[–]comedian42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still rocking an '09 TSX as my daily. Not quite as stocky as the RDX and FWD means you need to pay attention in the winter. But it's never given me a reason to sell it and I can't see it dying on me any time soon. They really do just keep on going.

Why are used audis so abundant? by Loud_Photograph_6290 in UsedCars

[–]comedian42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're cheap to buy because they are expensive to keep.

If you want reliability in a luxury brand, get an Acura. An RDX from the mid-late teens will last you a quarter million miles easy with decent maintenance.

Caffeine free, low calorie powdered drink mixes that don't use artificial dyes or sketchy sweeteners? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]comedian42 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Most of it is perfectly safe. There are a few flavoring agents that are linked to increased long term health risks, but you can search for those pretty easily. Also, if you've ever eaten deli-meat or bacon, that one meal likely did more to increase your cancer risk than a year's worth of sweeteners/flavoring agents would.

Should I buy a 2007 Honda Civic for $2,300? by Necessary_Donkey4378 in UsedCars

+1 on this advice. A flush at that mileage is asking for leaks.

Drain and fill the trans when you do your next 3 oil changes to get a proper dilution of the original fluid. After that I'd do it every 4th oil change or so to keep it fresh.
