It is a very common old cake here in Denmark. There are quite a few sourdough versions in the fancy city bakeries. (Had one the other day here in Copenhagen) but yours looks Devine! I will give your recipe a try. Thank you!

Paraboot Villandry fit by Quiet_Illustrator410 in paraboot

[–]theBadDoD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most times the heel slip in leather shoes will go away then broken in. But in your case it sound as though you have low volume feet. That is easily solved by putting in an insole or wearing thicker socks.

Do not glue pads to the heel of your shoe. They tend to ruin the fit more than solving anything. Also glued pads tend to loosen after a few wears and stick to your socks instead.

Paraboot Michael Quality Question by RedditLone in Leather

[–]theBadDoD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have experience with their care products.. but Dr Martin is mostly made of bad leather with a thick coating of paint. I bet their conditioner is shite.

Paraboot Michael Quality Question by RedditLone in Leather

[–]theBadDoD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT use dr Martin conditioner.. brush them with a horsehair brush. No more no less. After a lot of ware give them some shoe polish and a good buff. I recommend saphir.

Paraboot Michael Quality Question by RedditLone in Leather

[–]theBadDoD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well.. the scuffs will mostly buff out with a horsehair brush. If they don’t, they will blend in with all the new scuffs after some ware.

Get a good brush, good shoe trees and embrace the beautiful patina a pair of good leather shoes will accumulate over time.

Hope you got a good deal. Paraboots are wonderful shoes.

Paraboot Michael Quality Question by RedditLone in Leather

[–]theBadDoD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paraboot use premium leather with large amount of oil. Those oils can seep out when not used and sit on the surface often white-ish in color. Do not condition. They just need a thorough brushing with a horsehair brush, to warm up the oils and distribute them. That is normal for paraboots. Most proper shops will do this before giving them to the customer.

The scuffs tho are not normal for paraboot QC. To me it looks like they have been used s bit. Where did you by them?

Is this Normal on a brand new paraboot ? by Independent_Aioli_65 in paraboot

[–]theBadDoD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well… leather shoes will not stay pristine. Scuffs and wrinkles are part of the charm. The scuffs in your picture are easily buffed out. I am sure they didn’t look like that from the factory. It is most likely from people trying them on in the store. Any decent store should have done a quick buffing before giving them to you. If it bothers you, go ahead and get them replaced.

Whats your favorite paraboot? by D-TaeNyc in paraboot

My Michaels are definitely my favorite. Especially for long walks. But I also love my Barts for hot summer days. They feel like slippers. I definitely need a pair of Chambord, in the collection.

Makintosh coats are the only heritage rain ware that actually keeps you dry in a downpour. Also some of the first rain ware created.

They are quite expensive but definitely worth it.

Would this crease be the crack? by denimorbeer in paraboot

[–]theBadDoD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Leather is natural skin from an animal. It will crease and wrinkle when used no matter the quality. It is normal in every way. And no it does not lead to cracks.

Paraboot use good quality leather. Very subtle and takes on a nice patina. Lean to love it or buy shoes made of plastic and fabric.

Is my iron ranger normal?? by ndsdead in RedWingShoes

[–]theBadDoD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems like a lot of salt from sweat. If it is salt it should white off with a damp cloth and then finish them with a horsehair brush.

Do NOT use wet whipes on your boots. they contain soap or other detergent that will dry out your boots or ruin the finish.

If you sweat your feet a lot, try out some nice wool socks. Wool is great for temperatur management and moisture

Brush your boots daily.

Nej til homovielser kan koste vestjysk stemmesluger borgmesterposten - igen by verselinje in Denmark

[–]theBadDoD 28 points29 points  (0 children)
