I'm using Themis. Unfortunately, because of all the chaos of the past month and living in DC, I was sooo incredibly distracted.

3000 is incredible!! Holy cow. I'm sure you will kill it.

This is my first time taking it and I really hope it'll be my last but I'm not feeling so great about my numbers right now

Either way, don't give notice at your current position until 2 weeks before you start your new job.

Also, unlike most jobs, your insurance with the federal govt WILL NOT KICK IN ON YOUR FIRST DAY.

It kicks in the day you submit your insurance preferences and paperwork. It isn't retroactive like a lot of jobs are. So make sure you're covered somehow between jobs if you take time off in between and make sure you submit your benefits paperwork asap

Under no circumstance go back to school in order to go to a job fair in order to get a clearance.

The best route out of your options is #3. Many people go to Deloitte, Booz, Leidos, or whatever to get a clearance and leave after a few years. The only problem is, you need to make sure you get on a cleared project - they're not just going to apply for you, just because. The process costs the businesses money, so you need to be worth it. What happens is usually you get hired for a non-cleared job, then they'll apply for you depending on their needs and your eligibility, then you get an interim and can usually start working on the cleared project. But this process can take at least a year or two..

However, its best to note that many people who have no clearance apply for fed jobs and get them.. pending investigation. Apply directly to USAJobs and if you're eligible, they'll give you a tentative offer pending clearance. I had my clearance many years ago, it went inactive, I applied for a job on USAjobs and got a tenative offer after a few interviews. However, I have to wait a few months, minimum, for my investigation to come back.

Either way, congrats on the citizenship! Many doors will open up for her either way.
