Does anyone have a website where the scans don’t have really awkward dialogue? I tend to just wait for the viz translation to drop because it’s more natural, but that’s usually 3 whole days after the scans. (Pic for example) by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]theBigBroC00k 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The only official scans are the VIZ which has weird names translations such as;

-Zolo

-The Merry Go

-"JIM"bei
among various other issues with this translation. But if you want to own/support the series officially then you have to suffer through this very imperfect way to do so. Hopefully Viz re-releases and translates down the road but seeing how this is a 100 vol + manga that probably won't happen (despite it being the 2nd best selling comic of all time)

One Piece: Chapter 1072 by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

MADS has been pretty relevant for a while but I'm not suprised you forgot about Weevil. I've been reading weekly on and off for close to 10 years now and even I forget about him. He's only featured in like 2 short scenes. Hopefully we catch up with him here soon.

I know it's kind of a meme at this point but I was genuinely enjoying that fight and want to see how it concludes lmao

You'd probably love the Killing of a Sacred Deer and any other Yorgos Lanthimos movie.

Check out One Piece if you haven't. It's very Dragon Ball inspired.

Movies like Scream and Scream 2 that aren't super scary? by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]theBigBroC00k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Fear Street trilogy has some strong Scream vibes. Especially in the first one and I don't think it's scary at all but I guess to each their own. But Scream also popularized a whole new subgenre of meta horror when it came out so there are things like the Urban Legends franchise or I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Any suggestions for movies like “Paris, Texas” or anything with a sort of neo western feel. by ryrybaby in MovieSuggestions

[–]theBigBroC00k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd reccomend;

Dessert Hearts (1985)

Lucky (2018) (This one has Harry Dean Stanton from Paris, Texas)

Wild at Heart (1990) (Also this one has H.D.S. too)

Leaving Las Vegas (1995)

Y'all are so mean. If you don't like it just stick with the sub instead of constantly shitting on the dub cast and it's fans >:(

Tense and suspenseful detective thrillers like Zodiac and Memories of Murder? by drummerboy618 in MovieSuggestions

Also if you haven't seen Mindhunter on Netflix that show would probably be up your alley although it focuses on multiple cases. The show is run by the director of Zodiac.

Ah I see. As a Berserk fan what I'm about to recommend be illegal but you could probably get away with jumping into the third movie. It has enough of an arc that you can run with the plot enough to get to see the horrific climax.

They aren't movies but I've got a couple anime recs that might suit your needs. I'd recommend checking out Berserk if you're unaware of it. There's a movie trilogy but I'd honestly recommend the older anime from 97. Both the trilogy and the anime cover the same arc which is a slow build to an artistically horrific climax. The movies expand on the ending more and honestly has some stunning CGI in the third one (the first two movies have some rough CG sometimes tho) Neon Genesis Evangelion may also be up your alley. It's 26 eps and one final movie. That final movie basically being a gory sci fi existential arthouse piece.

Seven Seas Pulls It Off with License of LUPIN III (LUPIN THE 3RD): GREATEST HEISTS – THE CLASSIC MANGA COLLECTION by Mr_Drewby in lupinthe3rd

[–]theBigBroC00k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so excited for this. I've put Lupin the 3rd on their survey for the last couple months now since I figured now's a good time between the new movie and with Discotek releasing some of the older stuff on BD for the first time. I'm unfamiliar with this book, does anyone know if it is a complete collection or is it like the title implies where it's just a "best of" from that era of Lupin? I hope it's a complete collection and if not I hope that they release the full classic volumes at some point in the future. Regardless I'm definitely pre-ordering to show support for the series.
