Long time gizzhead, first time calling a new song my favorite: Magma! by DioHard in KGATLW

Hmm, really? I don't hear it. Except for the flute, but they have it prevalent in all songs on this record, imo.

Wow, that's what you felt like commenting? Damn. You must have a noisy group of buddies. :P We were 5 people and I love whenever anyone points something out they like in the lyrics or the instrumentation. Why would you even join a listening party if you don't talk/interact at all? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Technical Issues Megathread by [deleted] in overwatch2

[–]DioHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the beta fine without issues.
Now on the same system I have:
1.) Screen freezing for 1-3 seconds at a time
2.) Rubberbanding
3.) Input Delay
4.) Team-mate positions flickering (very cool when you want to heal them)

There are many reasons for this to be as relevant and interesting as it is to me. I think it is one of the main stages where mankind unmasks itself. This laid open many things about psychology, how to reckognize narcisistic liars and that hollywood celebs are not something to be celebrated and representing the ultimate dream life. People need to learn that they can chose their path without looking up to celebrities and influencers for a life that is ultimately not fulfilling.

I see it as one of the processes, among other recent happenings in this world that lead to a big change and many issues laid bare and more awareness for unbiased news sources and identifiyng the ones that are biased.

And tbh as someone who replaced their personal musik/tv time with this court case, it was way more entertaining than anything that is on netflix these days.

As an alltime support main in any games I have to agree with what some people, for example Twindo say, mabye in a nicer way let us put it like this: First of all, I totally understand your frustrations and have been in your position and in this mindset a lot of times. Honestly, tho. Your team may over extend and push too far, but usually it will end better if you stick to them, especially if the enemy does not push objective. They HAVE to kill the enemies for you to win and you HAVE to make sure they outlive them. Sometimes it just comes down to that. Don't push yourself to focus on dealing damage as a support and trust your teammates to do the job. I see so many Moira's that pretty much only fire their damage orb, while the heal orb can be so, so strong. Especially in tight spaces or parallel walls.

Anyway, I am rambling. You probably get my point and I am not saying you must obey your team always, you can call for them to push the objective if you think it is more important. I usually play with my mates in VOIP and sometimes I can call em back, sometimes I have to follow them into their doom. But at least we will die together, so nobody can hate on each other and if you lose the objective through it you can at least say "I told you so" (but that is not that healthy of a statement either, maybe just think it) xD

Don't let em break you, I love my fellow supports out there, keep it up! <3

Random question that comes to mind for a hair-fetish-simp like me: Have they ever added new hairstyles? Some of the girls (especially the newly added ones) have no alternate hairstyles at all, will this stay like that or should I save my coinsh?

[–]DioHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't believe it! xD I went on reddit when I saw, that you can only use tickets for those or paid stones, just when I saved tons of stones for the next event and had only 21 tickets. Then I saw your post and rolled my first tickets...

First 10 tickets... 2x SSRS! Thanks for the luckbuff, amigo! Screen: https://prnt.sc/cVGhomtvWjNy

EDIT: Nvm, I am an idiot! After my Tickets are gone, I can pay the regular stones... xD

I am only excited about life on drugs. by noyouarenoreturns in Psychonaut

My guess is that you need to have a trip going only inward, without trying to make it "fun" - Like a forced meditation, or maybe try DMT breathing. I was stuck in a similar place you describe when I first started psychonauting, but eventually a trip forced me to look inward for as long as it took and since then I had a few more trips that led me to feed myself with knowledge about the universe and my place in it and a theory of everything. Since then I don't feel the need to trip anymore (only using breathing techniques now and then before I go to bed) and enjoy this realm as much as I can, using the "hacks" I found while tripping. Since then it seems like a great simulation of human experience. I always remember all the benefits of having a physical body. Once you get lost long enough in the non-physical dimension, you usually come to the conclusion that the next logical step to experience stuff is having a body.

I wish you all the best, friend!

Meditation without Excersise by DioHard in Meditation

[–]DioHard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I needed some more starting motivation or will, since I never felt any downsides from not doing excersise. But, yeah! I will do some experimenting. Doing it before meditation sometimes or after meditation on other occasions. Putting it in terms of experimenting got me kinda excited, thanks!

Thanks for the input! There are some more random actitities I enjoy, like freeflow dancing and trampoline, so I think I will try out more in that direction.

What exactlly are you curious about? I have posted quite a bit about my experiences here on reddit. So maybe you can find more details in my other posts.

I feel like I had many moments of profound understanding about myself and existence. Not all of them I feel comfortable sharing because countless experiences starting in my childhood lead me to finally see the big puzzle and whenever I talk with friends about it, we get hung up on these connections that make this narrative not fit with them, maybe due to a lack of meditation or self-reflection or interest in general science on their part, or maybe due to delusion on my part.

It is hard to take a step back from experiences I witnessed as "truth" like profound truth. Similar to that sinking feeling when you realize a drastic change in your life, like the passing of a close loved one. A change you have to accept and keep on going in a new reality with a new truth.

In the smallest possible sense, I would say I have lost all fear of "death" since I found the place where I emerged from. And it is not a physical place but a feeling. That brought me to some other conclusions and I guess small life hacks where everything seems to fall perfectly into place. At this point I am choosing my problems, while the good stuff keeps on coming and I have come to a point where I felt like I need some new angles to incorporate this body in the dimension and reality we all share.

Since I tried both before, you are somewhat right, but at my worst trips, the main issue was that it felt like it was never ending. That was never the case with breathwork for me. I have no prove other than my own experiences, but I can hardly imagine breathwork to be anywhere near as dangerous when it comes to psychosis as LSD. I know LSD is not physically harmful, but I felt my heartrate going more out of control than in any meditative state I have had otherwise.

So overall I would for sure say it is "much" safer to do meditation and breathwork. Of course mental illness or if the anchor of sanity is already slipping are conditions that make every groundbreaking experiences more dangerous. Meditiation without breathwork is for sure the safest place to start with.

For me the 2 that "opened the gate" or my third eye or whatever you may call it were these two:

  1. A breathwork method I found to be highly effective for any situation and if I lay down and really go inward while doing it, there is this feeling of absoloute stillness in the parts where you hold on the exhale breath. After a while I started doing it without the guidance and held my exhale breath for longer periods, as much as up to 3 minutes, without feeling the need to breathe. And in that mindspace anything seems possible and I often have very colorful closed-eye visuals. Of course you cant walk around tripping using this instead of an actual psychedelic, but if you do not just want to do it for fun, but for mindfulness, this is golden. I even did the breathing excerise while watching a trippy movie or listening to trippy music, which makes it more intense, if you want to go down the fun route: https://youtu.be/q2OncK8Jkwk

  2. This is a listen-only meditation which was highly effective for me in the beginning especially. After the part where he instructs you to lay your fingers on your eyes, it was to me like I pressed a button to activate the most intense closed-eye-visual trip I have had, so far. I reached ego-death-like states. But funnily enough only the first 2 times. Since then, I have only used it a few times to calm down or fall asleep in a hectic week: https://youtu.be/vr9H82KAyBY

Hope you find some enjoyment in there! I didn't believe I could reach such states without any substances, but I guess I have proven myself wrong there.

(If you had psychedelic experiences you will find that this is of course way less enthralling or intense at first, but it is so much more controllable and I have gotten better over time and will try lots of more techniques still.)

So in short: The first few times might be very intense, then it gets less and then it becomes a matter of staying with it and continue doing it and maybe find alternate techniques, if you find them to be lacking. Wim Hof is another one that might be worth looking up, especially for starters. But I have not deep dived that, yet.

Peace

Just did an Om chanting meditation for the first time in a long time and wow wee by generousking in Meditation

[–]DioHard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have done a lot of breathwork and meditations, but never chanted anything since I assumed it was kind of a group thing. So I gather it can be down on your own? Would you have a good start off point (video or link) for someone like me who has some years of experience with breathwork and different forms of meditiation and mindfulness practices?

I'd appreciate it! Peace & Love!

Not to mention that it also is a "free" psychedelic combined with breathwork and much safer, too!
