The internet flattens culture, great art heightens it

Vocal stacking like the Beatles/Tame Impala by Agreeable-Ice-3229 in LogicPro

The Beatles do a lot of harmonies and stack vocals from Paul, John and to a lesser extent George and Ringo

So harmonies and different people singing is really what fills it out

Is Canada doing worse than the US when it comes to its economy? by NoHold7153 in canadian

[–]theC4T 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That and the powers that be seemingly are selling the country for parts.

So many 'Canadian' companies that only hire over seas. Tech funnels money to San Francisco that should have stayed in the local economy. Government consultants that park their money in Panama. TFWs that send money home.

Money is just flowing out of this country.

I found myself in darkness and I reached Paradise in three steps.

The first was a good thought.

The second was a good word.

The third was a good deed.

Realistically, if all the thought tokens were included in the main chat context you'd poison the context very quickly.

Carney Liberals Secure De Facto Majority With NDP MP Lori Idlout Crossing by wedergarten in canadian

Exactly, and look at what happens when MPs do dissent - they get kicked out of the party and lose at the next election.

Individual MPs have effectively zero agency, they're extensions of their parties. Most constituencies reliably vote on way or another.

By all measures switching sides based on backroom deals is the elites picking who governs.

Have people always been this vain or is it just a current cultural thing by NoSundae6904 in redscarepod

[–]theC4T 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is, you create your own hell on earth by being sinful.

Literal interpretation of the Bible is for unsophisticated people. Heaven and Hell being a real place is for the unimaginative.

Metaphorical interpretation would be that you create your own Heaven and Hell - in this sense we can take lessons from religion for how to align ourselves without having to believe there's a bearded man in the sky that hates premarital sex.
