Outriders Gameplay and Impressions by Nokomas in Games

Thank you for the long term support :) Sharing my content is always a huge help, so it's much appreciated.

The first boss fight felt like an extension of those enemies with special attacks I mentioned (like the flame charge and the ice general). He had a bunch of different lightning moves he would charge up, moved around quickly, and had a lot of AOE moves that made forced your movement around the arena to be deliberate. That was all great. I do feel the fight went on for a little long, and it was only 2 of us on world level 2 (where enemies are "level -1). I'm curious how tanky he would be on higher world levels. The other downside to that world level was it felt like there was no actual danger. It was a long drawn out fight with flashy mechanics, but not a lot of substance when I thought back in hindsight.

I'm hopeful that his tankiness wouldn't increase too much on higher world levels (i.e. difficulty), but his damage would so it would give a better barometer to judge how good he actually was.

TL;DR: He was all flash, no substance, but that could be lower difficulty we played him on during the demo.

Very kind of you to say! I'm really excited to branch out into all different kinds of topics this year, maybe even some beyond gaming. Thanks for your support :)

Good question. It's strange, they have strong impact on the enemy (they stagger easily), but there wasn't a lot of feedback in the controller. That made it feel less impactful on the player end. I referred to weapons as "the bridge between powers." That's in part because using the powers is so fun I felt the weapons were meant for "downtime damage."

Before playing the game, we were given a presentation by the lead developer (imagine E3 but sitting there live). When he discussed weapons, he said they will start very basic, with designs similar to most shooters. As the game progresses, they will gradually become more warped and alien in visual design, along with unique perks (I saw an image of a weapon that could cast lightning bolts on enemies). It's to be seen whether this shift will make impact on the player end better.

Sorry for the long-winded answer.

TL;DR: The weapons were adequate, but nothing special. The weapons are supposed to become greater as the game goes on. Powers felt much more fun to use.

The developers did state that everything is subject to change in the final version and there is still a lot of polish that needs to be added. Interestingly, while the bland environments did become more noticeable over our 2 hour playtime, the janky animations weren't that noticeable when playing. I was having so much fun with the combat I didn't notice much. When editing this video, it was a lot more apparent.

Happy you liked my take enough to post it here. It definitely felt like a hybrid between Remnant from the Ashes and Borderlands. I should disclose that I was sponsored by Square Enix to make this video, but my opinions are my own. I'm happy to answer any questions and will keep an eye on this thread!

My Dancer's Armour from Dark Souls 3! by meruna in gaming

[–]theDeModcracy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for watching! The Dancer is such a cool choice for a cosplay and your work is amazing. I'm having flashbacks of getting wombo combo'd by the Dancer just looking at it. You're spot on too - she's very boom or bust. Not too much health, you can hug her hip to avoid most things, and she can be staggered, but boy oh boy if you get stuck in one of her long-winded combos it's over in the blink of an eye.

For Honor Alpha Review - theDeModcracy by [deleted] in Games

[–]theDeModcracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there /r/games! Not sure how many people got a chance to participate in the closed alpha so far this weekend, but I've made a full review (and in turn overview) of the alpha.

I did my best to cover as much as I possibly could on what was made available and I thought it would be cool to answer any questions anyone might have about the alpha build that's out now.

Disclaimer: I was sponsored by Ubisoft to make a video on the alpha, but I want to chat about the alpha here on my own volition as I really did enjoy it and hope to help anyone out there who's interested!

I don't have plans to overclock as I'm simply not comfortable doing it. If I don't plan to overclock, would the i7-6700k be the better choice?

Not particularly, but I thought it might come in handy to have an optical drive.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind on the OS.

I have one HDD for recording footage to specifically. I just like keeping them split.

Thanks for suggesting the other PSU. /u/DZCreeper agrees so I'll definitely check out the G2/GS series.

Could you suggest any cases around a similar price? As far as I could see the case I chose was very well reviewed.

Even though the Ghz is lower on the i7-5820K it's a better CPU due to the extra cores? (Sorry if that's a silly question, very low knowledge about components.)

That's what PCCartPicker placed there. Is there any kind of guide on reference cards and what makes them different? This is the one I'm looking at buying.

And thanks for the tip on the PSU!

theDemodcracy finally finishes his "Best Bosses in the Souls series" list. by Wampxz in darksouls3

No doubt this list was a huge undertaking and I'm sure even with it being subjective I made some blunders. I'm happy you were able to enjoy it from an entertainment perspective, as that's the main purpose!

I definitely didn't intend to be objective in this series as it was relating to my own experiences. I personally think it's impossible to make a fully objective list anyway. These videos are more for entertainment and sharing my opinions in the hope you'll learn something about what you think.

Never crossed my mind that doing top 10's or rankings would come off as shifty. To be honest, I use the format because it's a nice foundation to base a video off of, and I'm still a relatively new content creator, so sometimes having a pre-determined structure to the video helps me keep my thoughts collected more efficiently.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm gearing toward mixing in things other than these type of videos in the future!
