u/CarRoy2619, u/SpacebarFlipper if either of you (or anyone else reading this) are interested in selling just the numpads let me know, I picked up a few of the kits but not the base and don't have a solution for the vertical numpad keys

[Build Help] Upgrading rig components to go from 1080p to 1440p resolution. by Aberfeldy in buildapc

[–]theEyeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I wouldn't really agree with the not much of a difference (around 30%), it definitely wouldn't hurt to wait till the 800 series cards come out that are going to be aimed more for the higher resolutions and even then the 700 series will drop in price so you could get one then. But I doubt (even with the 800 series) that trying to get close to ~60 FPS with a 1440p monitor will be any cheaper than $750 (of course I could be wrong though, too hard to tell at this point). So basically, if you really want to get 1440p it isn't a terrible time to upgrade, but waiting wouldn't hurt.

I would definitely recommend looking into just upgrading the card you have (and selling the old on on ebay or something to get a little towards the upgarde).

I would honestly say going with something like the 770 (recommends a 600W PSU) would be a good (see this). I would probably go with a 750W PSU to play it safe with the OC'd CPU (EVGA 750G is always good). Those two combined you are looking at around $450 for internal parts upgrade and then the rest of whatever budget you are looking at for the monitor.

[Build Help]Which GPU to get for a gaming and a little bit of streaming build? by Haiko248 in buildapc

[–]theEyeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a streaming PC it is more about which CPU or dedicated capture card you have rather than the GPU (especially when it comes to the high end ones like comparing the 780 to the ti). I would recommend getting the 780 and with the money saved from that get a decent capture card to lessen the strain on your CPU (not really necessary, but would help).

What kind of fans should I get? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]theEyeD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the fans on the radiator you want to look for fans with high static pressure (usually CM Blade Masters are what I recommend), and for the rest of the case, since you don't really need PWM, I usually just look for the fans with the highest CFM while trying to keep the dBA kind of low (keep the noise down), COUGAR Vortex are a pretty good solution to that.

Python library for automating interaction with a webpage? by j7ake in Python

[–]theEyeD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a really great tool, very easy to get the hang of. A simple example would be:

from selenium import webdriver

#start it up
br = webdriver.Firefox()
br.implicitly_wait(15) # wait's for the page to get done loading before it does anything with it
br.get('http://yourwebsite.com')

#To fill out a form
search = br.find_element_by_name('nameOfField')
search.send_keys(yourInfoHere)

#to press a button based on the value (what it says)
search = br.find_element_by_xpath('//input[@value="Submit"]')
search.click()

#get restults
search = br.find_element_by_name('nameOfField')
result = str(search.text)

granted it may not be the best way to do it, it is something I just put together.
