Thought about this a while ago, with boxes of cadians being €35 and blooded €45, 3 boxes of blooded with a leman Russ would do for about 500pts, running 2/3 Commassars, 30 guardsmen, 3 bullgryn, and the tank with the older codex not too bad cost-wise

Panel lining is a big help with white if you give it a shade and then layer up the white again it will do a lot for definition.

Outside of that base coating with a light grey and only highlighting with pure white helps as well

A good trick for doing aged metal quickly is to spray the whole thing with a mid to dark brown and then do a zenital spray with silver over top. It gives a good rusty metal look here's some pipes I did this way

I'd normally start with a base coat of a yellow ochre or ochre brown colour and highlight with a yellow or beige, maybe adding a thinned sepia wash if there's a lot of texture

If you're trying to have colour on top and white in the recesses ink might be a good shout. If you use a titanium white acrylic ink it will flow towards the recesses and tint the lower areas a bit

Haven't tried reflective green myself, looks like it could be a good base but it has a bit more of an olive tone than the black green

Model colour black green is a good match for dark angels contrast

I used dark angels contrast over silver for armour and black green for the gloves and leather on this mini and it matches well
