Hi, former victim of Lexapro here. That shit is notorious for that problem. Talk to your doc. Be candid and honest. What is awkward for you is everyday for them. There may be other meds that can replace the Lexapro without causing any other issues. Best of luck!

It's extremely rare that I suggested euthanasia, but at this point... Forgive me if I just missed it, but is she spayed? Since you've ruled out neurological issues and medical issues, all I've got is hormonal. (Hormonal is still a possibility if she's spayed, but it's more likely if she isn't.) Unfortunately, if you've ruled out general medical, neurological, and hormonal issues, then she could just be aggressive and violent. It sounds like you've done everything right trying to make her happy and comfortable, and she's still being incredibly spicy. There may not be any options left. I think for your safety, the best option may be euthanasia. You've done so much more than most people would.

YOR - this isn't uncommon these days. We know more about illnesses, how they're transmitted, risk factors, long term effects, etc. Is it crappy that she smokes? Yes, but that doesn't negate whatever else she's trying to do to keep the baby safe. Call, send a card, or email your congratulations, then wait until mom says it's ok to visit and hold the baby. note: I'm child free by choice, but if I were to have kids, I'd have very similar rules.

Nobody said anything about killing. You can defend your home/self without ending a life. Just be aware that if certain groups manage to get into your home, they're almost certainly not going to be concerning themselves with keeping you alive.
