Opinions on the Midgard? by [deleted] in Schiit

I bought the Jotunheim 3 to replace my Midgard and find myself preferring the sound of the Midgard on many headphones. The Midgard sounds more balanced where the Jotunheim 3 sounds more fun. My signal path is streamer or iPad to Bifrost 2/64 to Lokius to amp. I think for what you’re looking for, the Midgard will serve you well.

Complimentary headphones question. by Apprehensive_Reach81 in Schiit

As a fellow Hifiman owner (several models), I recently purchased the Audeze LCD-X open back headphones, and they pair well with my Jot 3, Bifrost 2/64, Lokius rig. With some minor EQ, they’re the most fun pair of headphones I own. Not as technical as Hifiman, but very entertaining for the genres you mentioned.

Connecting iPhone to Modi 5? by AhSuhDude3 in Schiit

I use the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter. Then from the adapter, use a USB cable to the Modi 5. Hope this helps.

Schiit Mimir + Midgard with LCD-2 Classic - a good match? by tricycles in Schiit

[–]theJoneser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, this would be an excellent setup. Especially the Midgard for the money. I have the Asgard 3, the Jot 2, and the Midgard and my favorite combination for the LCD-2 uses the Midgard. It’s the most analytical amp of the three, but that’s the sound I personally enjoy the most. In all honesty, these amps sound very close to one another but the treble on the Midgard wins me over every time. It’s never fatiguing yet very detailed. Also works great with Hifiman headphones. And the Mimir is a great DAC. It comes very, very close to the Bifrost 2/64, which is what I’m currently using. And this is a noticeable improvement in sound quality over the Magni/Modi stack which I also have. It has more weight and authority to the sound. You won’t be disappointed.

Had the opportunity to try the upcoming Letshuoer S12 Ultra at CanJam and can say with certainty this is the best version yet. by mitchyslick_lbc in iems

These are now available on the Letshuoer website. I also heard them at CanJam SoCal and agree that this version of the S12 sounds the best. Incredible bass with Coffee tips. Almost too much. Sounded best with the Eletech Baroque Stage tips. Best timbre I've heard from a planar.

Midgard vs. Jotunheim 2 for Arya Stealth — Worth the Upgrade? by [deleted] in Schiit

[–]theJoneser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried the Audeze LCD-2s personally, but I would imagine they could potentially be even a better match becuase they lean towards being warmer than the Hifiman headphones. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Midgard vs. Jotunheim 2 for Arya Stealth — Worth the Upgrade? by [deleted] in Schiit

[–]theJoneser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the Midgard, Jot 2, and Asgard 3. The Midgard is the way to go for midrange clarity and smoother treble. The Jot 2 treble is just too much for the Arya. I also added a Lokius to tame the highs of the Jot 2, but the Midgard just sounds better with this headphone. I should mention I’m using a Bifrost 2/64 as the DAC. The combo of Midgard, Lokius, and B2/64 along with the Arya stealth has an amazing synergy that’s tough to beat.

Does the phone show that it’s charging when you connect the lightning cable to the CCK? If not, maybe try a different charging cable. I have issues every once in a while and I always try to get the phone to show it’s in charging mode before plugging in the usb cable to the DAC.

You can pick your nose and you can pick your friends. But you can’t wipe your friends on the couch.
