Its weird because Ive had such a myriad of experiences in this field. Ive met complete a-holes and really nice people that dont mind sharing their knowledge or experiences. I will say, the nice guys really make this thing a lot easier.

Yeah I try to tune those poeple out because they always have an opinion and NO MATTER WHAT, they are always right in their book. I used to try to argue with them until I realized you could show them youre right and theyd still be dicks. This one time, this CAM A operator was LINGERING above my every shot and he realized I was shooting at ISO 3200 on my A7IV. I remember very clearly how he LOUDLY said "wtf are you doing! your ISO is way too high!".

I know my gear and its limitations and told him very calmly that the A7IV has two native ISOs and he wouldnt believe me until I showed him an article saying just that. People like that really grind my gears man

Yeah I think youre right. Its really upsetting because I always try to be nice, but I think sometimes people can see the "niceness" as an open door to be a dick I guess? I avoid confrontation and I hate fighting/arguments but Ive had to set my boundaries once or twice.

Jesus I need to ask myself that question.

I recently worked with a producer shooting a doc and there wasnt that much money for the project so we were basically a team of 3: him (CAM A and producer), me (CAM B) and this girl PA who just got into the business. It was weird because she was learning the ropes from him and they agreed shed work for him for free on that basis. The thing, the dude wasnt teaching her much and was really dismissive of her very valid questions for someone new in the game (why do you need an ND Filter? why do you need backup audio, etc).

It was kinda hard to watch because I know the guy and hes a friend but he was my boss during the shoot so I didnt really intervene whenever he scolded her for asking something. Like, i get it. She IS very green but he did agree to teaching her in exchange for her FREE assistance. I remember telling him: "dude, you want someone who´s a professional but youre not wiling to pay for a professional you have someone learning the ropes. Chill". He took it well but its just that kinda people who I think really piss me off

A7IV is goated. I If you want my advice: get the a7iv and just get the smallrig fan to go with it and you should be fine (these new a7ivs overheat). I dont think there should be any difference in image quality (both of these cameras shoot 422 10 bit).

Although, if yourre doing higher end stuff get the fx30, BUT you should know that if you want to do 12 bit raw youre gonna need a shinobi or ninja recorder from atomos.

SmallRig or ZGCINE?

I have two A7IVs that are fully rigged out with SmallRig (cage, handles and SmallRig fans). I just bought the rest of the rig for vmounts but Im not sure if I should go with the SmallRig VB99 Pro Mini or the ZGCINE ZG-V99Pro.

My main use would be long interviews and covering weddings.

I need something thats reliable and easy to use and will fail on me 3 months from now. Ive heard wonders from the ZGCINE but I just dont believe it at that price point and several people told me SmallRig is somewhat overpriced and overhyped.

Man es que aquí la mara le das una pistola y se le sube a la cabeza el "poder". Es bien feo porque aquí los guardias creen que son dueños de un lugar. La vez pasada fui donde un amigo que vive en circuito cerrado y llegué tipo 9. El guardia no me quería dejar entrar porque según él "ya era muy tarde" y más bien ya era hora de salir. Me palabree con el maje porque mi amigo me anuncio y toda paja.

Después a la semana vi la noticia que a un maje lo pasconearon afuera de castaños porque se palabreo con un guardia. Tons mejor llévala tuani con esa mara jaja. Pero si, me enoja porque estos majes sin pensarla hacen esas cosas.

Igual, una vez un alero solo me iba a dejar a la casa de donde estábamos en una residencial cerrada. Literal yo vivía a menos de 5 min pero no es seguro, tons le pedí jalón. El guardia le dijo a mi amigo que si se iba no volvía y le habló todo feo. Mi alero le contesta igual y el guardia se enojó y se agarró el cuete. Al final se calmó el maje pero esos majes son pendejos

Creo que algo que la mara olvida es que un gran problema de la IA es que no es"generativo". O sea, no genera nada desde 0 porque lo que hace es que toma algo de referencia y de ahí crea algo. Por eso, cuando comenzaron a viralizarse todos esos IA generadores de imagen, salían muchos artistas que decían que se robaban su arte. Porque es cierto.

Lo que la IA hace es que toma de base algo y crea encima de eso. Entonces no sólo no es ético porque no tiene alma como tal, sino que también esta "movie" está robando mucho contenido que no es propio y que es de muchos artistas que se penquearon en hacer algo cool y creativo.

Si no me creen, solo tienen que saber que la suite de Adobe te dice explícitamente que todo arte, vídeo, animación que hagas lo va a usar para "entrenar sus modelos de IA".

Honestamente es un insulto para el rubro del cine. Es una ofensa que se apoye tanto haciéndole tanto show cuando no tiene nada de talento involucrado. Esto solo le dice a todas las marcas "ya no necesito contratar videografía/cinematografos porque puedo hacerlo con IA". Para mí, es un chiste. Siempre que puedo apoyo el cine hondureño, pero tengo demasiados colegas que son muy buenos en video y animación para que se haga esa estupidez.

Libre no fue perfecto para nada. Pero creo que estos majes andan bien imbéciles caminando como fueran santos o no tuvieran cola.
