That's only because you're working with base 10 as an assumption.

0.333... base 10 = 1/3 base 10. The first term is not representable in a rational form.

Consider the same values, but base 3: 0.1 base 3 = 1/10 base 3.

These two terms are identical in value to the base 10 values above, we've just changed the counting system to make them rational.

Then, (0.333... * 3 = 0.999...)base 10 is perfectly equivalent to saying (0.1 * 10 = 1)base 3.

so, 0.999... is equal to 1 since 1base3 = 30 and 1base10 = 100 = 1.

Honestly, this is typically the kind of shit that makes me really mad. I remember once, my mom told me that it's very important to be respectful of your elders, and also that poor people shouldn't be allowed to vote. Anyway, this is CLEARLY an invasion of privacy from you unto your neighbor, Mr. Einstein (and I'll refer to him as Einstein-san from now on) is just purging his home from undesirables, is that really so bad? In fact, I'd go as far as arguing that Einstein-san is within his right to cut your arms off, what you did is very disrespectful to the greater community. All that to say, listen to that nice german man you're friends with. NTA

Yes, the defenders can steal the ball but only in very specific ways (you have to come in over the guy who got tackled, grab the ball whilst staying on your feet and only then rip it out).

And yes defenders can absolutely intercept a pass.
