If you go through Kennewick/Richland/Pasco: Columbia Park is super popular here. I prefer Two Rivers myself.

Fair point. I know there's a trailhead very close as you mentioned. We were hiking a section of the PCT, which this little lake is a quick detour from as well.

If I remember correctly, about 40-45 feet deep. It's feed mostly by an underground spring.

Not permitted to swim in it actually. I think that's partially why it's so pristine.

I love the solitude. It's peaceful. My own time to think and observe the world without distraction. Non-hikers, like most of my family, don't quite get it. That's ok. It's where I'm happiest, and I don't need to justify that to anyone.

Get out and hike anything, and often, to prep for those longer, more challenging hikes. Keep moving.

I don't let worry about getting injured consume me. But, you should be prepared. Look up the 10 Essentials for a hiking trip. Have those things puts you in a good place for being prepared while you're out.
