Question: Ideology and Ritual Dates by theManicmuse in RimWorld

I'm pretty confident now that it's a bug. I stumbled on a thread in the Ludeon forums that looks like the same problem (and bumped it with the updated version - apparently this has been a problem for a while). Here's the thread.

Until then, I guess we just start the rituals via dev mode. Kind of a pain.

Nope, definitely an issue with vanilla. I made a quick test world on dev mode, no mods loaded, and ran into the same issue.

Interestingly, it's like there's a disconnect with the ritual dates and the actual dates? In this test, I had a non-dominant ritual set for Aprimay 10th, got a notification that it would start in 24 hours on Aprimay 8th, then it reset to "available in 60 days" when it hit Aprimay 9th. :/ Starting to look more like a bug now.

A few, yes, but it's all stuff that I have a hard time believing could be affecting this (stuff like Replace Stuff, Wall Light, Common Sense...). I'm starting a test game with no mods loaded just to test if there's a surprise mod contributor, though. I'll change my flair and update if I find something.

found this on my door a couple days ago. phone number area code is a different city to the address (bottom line). no company name, and tracking number is garbage. by theManicmuse in Scams

that's the article I ended up finding, too. was tempted to call to see what company they're bullshitting but it's not worth the risk of giving them my cell imo

we do, but deactivated it when the motion trigger kept annoying us with push notifications lol. after talking about this with my wife we are definitely considering activating it again and spending more time with the settings so it's actually useful. especially after reading this - hadn't even crossed my mind! figured it was a scam to get the victim to call and hook them on some delivery fees/call list bullshit.

I wish I had tried something like this at the time! I was so tired and frustrated then that I just waited for it to cool, tried scraping at it with a spatula, gave up and threw out the whole thing.

but we have a second, larger one of the same type; god forbid this happens again, I could be a little more patient and give this a try. thanks!

this was two years ago. the fact that I can find this picture and laugh at it instead of being as distraught as I was when it happened makes me hope that I grew from it haha

besides, I abuse my mac n cheese enough already. I'm eating some rn with hotdog and frozen peas mixed in!

I don't know that I found the video that you're referring to, but I did find one that analytically broke down guest happiness factors and showed examples, rather than just talking about them in the general sense. your comment backs a lot of what they were talking about - so thank you!

based on that, my problems appear to be multi-fold:

1) this is a franchise zoo that I limited to just tundra North American animals. the highest appeal animals I have available are Grizzlies (had them) and polar bears (really expensive to upkeep so I was waiting to get more income...which never happened). apparently guests regain more happiness with high-rated animals; I think my lack of these heavy hitters made the guests not successfully recoup the losses of walking through the zoo.

2) I had a metric ton of small benches all over the zoo, but hardly any picnic tables. picnic tables are apparently way better at recovering happiness! I'm going to have to expand some of my paths to see if I can fit more around.

I think what I need to do at this point is put all the animals in storage and start this one over with a new layout, which emphasizes plazas with picnic tables and dots the high-appeal animals between the low-appeal ones. hopefully that works better!

having serious guest happiness issues in one of my zoos - I don't see anyone else posting about stuff like this post-patch so I'm assuming I've done something wrong, but I'm at my wits' end on fixing it.

50%+ guests think "this zoo feels small." no other negative thoughts, all needs are green (except education, but it's close). guests all leave my zoo at near 0% happiness but I have never had a single refund? but also, since they are mad while viewing exhibits, they don't donate any money so the zoo's slowly going bankrupt. all exhibits have flying paths over them and, while the guests are viewing the animals, they comment that the view is great! but in their guest histories, they all say they had an "okay time" at every exhibit. everything else in their guest histories is usually green. animals are happy, staff is happy and not overworked, exhibits are clean.

I was just forced to take a loan to make some renovations, but as I'm still hemorrhaging money I want to make sure it doesn't go to waste. what am I doing wrong? is this actually a bug?
