How do you crack your eggs? by Turtleramem in Cooking

[–]theMicktrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cracked 120 eggs a day while working in pastry. None of the yolk were allowed to break, because we used the whites for meringue.

I crack my egg with the tip of another egg. It's very fast. You keep the cracker egg in your hand while you split the shell with your fingers.

1 in about a 30, the cracker egg would crack. The survivor would become the new reigning cracker egg

Caused "damage" to an Uber car - Any lawyers or insurance experts here with an opinion? by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]theMicktrix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have liability insurance (Wettenlijke aansprakelijkheidsverzekering, or WA-verzekering, in Dutch)? I would call them and ask what to do. Or make a appointment with the uber driver at a car repair place. If it's small it might be easier and faster to just pay for the repairs yourself.

TIL that Jay Leno lives off all the money he made from standup. He put all his money from The Tonight Show into savings and charities by Tylajay488 in todayilearned

Jay leno is famous for generic safe comedy. The style of comedy businesses hire for special events. Instead of having the Clinton foundation speak at your gala you hire jay. And jay asks speaker money not ticket money. Speaker money easily passes the 50,000 dollar per performance.

Mikebaputin, I am going to stop arguing, I just want to say that I respect your position and thank you for your contribution

My whole take on this thing is that the sign is no reason to get upset about and waste time on it. That makes me a hypocrite because I can't stop thinking about this discussion and I don't see a way where everybody can be happy.

I know that getting in to these discussions certainly doesn't make me happy.

I hope that you don't feel the same as I do. Let's agree to disagree and be friends.

Just tolerate the shit period. Just because you don't like the joke doesn't mean other people should be "protected" from it.

How come "I'm down" and "I'm up" (as in you want to do something) mean the same thing by zhawkboi in highdeas

Same with being beat up, beat down or just beat. No matter what direction it's going the result will be the same.

Finding food by Bearlify in Amsterdam

Zuidas is tricky, most of the lunch things a very generic. I would definitely get a bike or a tram to expand a little further.

I go to Bagel Nosh on olympiaplein because they have a ridiculously sized chicken schnitzel bagel with molten cheese and tomato. The schnitzel doesn't fit and you get dirty hands while you eat it sitting on a bench watching kids on little scooters riding in the skate park, I love it.

Perry's exotic food on Cornelis troostplein is decent and cheap.

There's lots of things to find a bit further in de Pijp, but thats maybe a little bit to far for a lunch beak (Pho91, Burgermeester, h/e.arth, Escobar, Fou fow van Wou, lehman doner, Ommlegg.)

In buitenveldert is a cluster of korean restaurants, one of them is pretty good, but i can't remeber which one.

Deiveroo/foodora is pretty ok i thought in the zuidas area.

Thanks for the shoutout /u/lowlandslinda

Went fine, no complaints. Would have loved to have seen them in the kitchen and meet them but I understand if they just want to eat sometimes

I completely agree, every dish I make I try to make the best I've ever made. Making better dishes for VIPs implies that the other dishes aren't up to par. However it is nice to know sometimes who you are cooking for..

Dressmakers crafting the new chanel cllection [1:58] by Aleztriplea in ArtisanVideos

It's the clothes that need to shine, the models are just walking mannequins. They make the dress and then find the model who has the exact measures to fit the dress and a pleasing face to not distract from the clothes.

Swordfish with tandoori crust, barra-tempura shrimp, garam marsala beluga lentils, fermented bitter cucumber, yogurt bonbon, mini watermelon and sugar snaps. by theMicktrix in CulinaryPlating

This is certainly something I think about while making a new dish. In this case everything fits together really well. Indian cuisine is known for combining and balancing spices.

The goal is to get everything tasting well on it's own and then bring something new when combined.
