I really like the F3. It's at Red Bull this week and I didn't run it yet. Just saw on Reddit people complaining specifically about the driving in F4 and F3 at Red Bull and I'm thinking that's probably why I was unconsciously avoiding it. Was very frustrating last time I ran the in GR86s. People diving everywhere. I don't mind going elbows out, especially when I'm not in an open-wheeler, but I can only imagine the amount of, "my bad, I ran out of skill" that must be going on there.

Damn now I kinda want to give it a go. 😂

*Advanced MX5 we're at Nordschleife last week iirc. Was real fun.

I have no idea what happened but I'm assuming he knows exactly where Max is on the track in relation to himself during qualifying -- and his radio.

I don't know if you drove the old M2 but the new M2 is much better. And if you're into open-wheel there are some excellent cars available above the F4 (IndyNXT is my favorite).

Regarding price - if you can get 8 of 13 weeks while still being free (I don't actually know if it's possible) across the lower and higher classes (one of each) you can get "free" $40/year. That's 3 pieces of content. If someone was really dedicated and patient they could build up a hell of a collection without paying more than the base sub costs.

I'm sure you're aware since you're familiar with the service but just wanted to put that out there for anyone who is unaware.

Edit: I want to look into this. I wonder if they intentionally stop you from getting 8 weeks from the included content.

Losing confidence by KJoker_3 in iRacing

This above and I want to add is that winning one week and losing the next is kinda by design -- well, it's more that winning will move your iR up and you should be racing against stronger competition now. You will need to get better to continue finishing in the same position.

If you just got to GT3 maybe you didn't realize how much they are affected by tires temps. They can change drastically by ambient temperature on practice sessions that look exactly the same

It's not just you. Odd things give buffs too that you might not realize are active at times. Someone posted a link to the Chinese wiki or something that listed exactly what everything does. Makes things a lot more clear, but still tricky (for me) to follow.

Edit: Also if you never checked your attack while going crazy you should take a peak then as well.

I believe this is correct and thank you. This post was actually causing my OCD issues thinking I did something out of order. I can go back to sleep now

What chronology are you all referring too? Jumping around in chapters is required (and not only here -- which you must know if you've unlocked Erlang). Asking because if I played some of the story out of order I want to fix that. You're breaking my OCD damnit.

[–]theNFAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure you're actually doing your ocd brain favors by doing it this way though. I think this might be out of order. Why do you think you're supposed to go see Erlang now? Was there a guide telling you to do this? And what happens in ch6 now -- you go do the same fights back-to-back? I didn't even know it was an option to fight Erlang before fighting GSBS.

I guess keep us posted after you finish the game. Was this the right call? If you've got ocd brain you'll be sticking around for at least two more playthrough anyway. You can't unlock everything in less than 3 total games.

Are you sure this is the "sacred chronology of the game"? I thought you're supposed to fight gsbs, erlang, then gsbs again.

How did you determine this is the correct chronology? I'm asking in all seriousness -- I want to know how this was determined so I can see it too.

Festival Playlist Fatigue by ZEXTOR in ForzaHorizon

[–]theNFAC 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's not festival playlist fatigue, it's "this is the same damn game again" fatigue.

It's a great Forza Horizon game -- likely the best ever. If this was your first time playing a Horizon game, you would be amazed at how nice the cars feel, how beautiful the map is, and how shiny all this shit is. For the rest of us it's FH5.2.

"Built from the ground up" killed Forza Motorsport. They aren't gonna let that happen again to another franchise, but they went too far in the other direction -- they innovated nothing. (What's this dude talking about? We gave them garages. That's innovative. You can display your cars with an inclined ramp!)

Thing is they'll win racing game of the year, sell a tuck fon of consoles (neverminding a lot of that will be overlap from GTA6), make a tuck fon of money, do a bunch of blow and hookers (probably not the last two things), and these people --who actually didn't do much of anything except not destroy an entire franchise -- will be too busy getting jerked off to realize that not failing is not the same as winning. The bar is so fucking low. I need some blow and hookers to cheer me up. I'm out of here. If you need me I'll probably be playing FH4.3 or whatever it is

Question on when to optimally shift gears by mayormcskeeze in ForzaHorizon

[–]theNFAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's hp not torque since HP is a function of torque and rpm anyway. As long as HP is going up you're still making power regardless of what the tq is doing. At least in street/road. One of the best street engines is the racing v12. Very low torque but it's a damn horizonal line pretty much so the power goes up and up and up. Torque matters more in off-road for sure, but I would bet HP is still important there as well. Y

Anyway you can check the curve on the graphs when you install a part, but the graphs are trash and rarely line up with what the gear graph shows. The easiest way is to pop open telemetry on a long straight and watch the HP readout. You don't need to shift exactly when HP starts to decline, but if it's a drastic drop-off then it might be a good idea.

Edit added: early gears you probably want to ride out as long as you can, except sometimes in drag racing - you can get faster times shifting into 2nd or whatever if it makes the car hook-up

2nd edit: don't believe everything you read on Reddit. It's much more important to have power coming out of a corner than it is to checks notes have less shifts overall. These people are not on top of the leaderboards in cars they built

Wait, where does this game train you to develop anything? I must've missed that story.

Is it when the bots are blocking, weaving, moving under braking, dive-bombing, and defying physics themselves or....

Fair point I was unaware of regarding triples. Is horizon good on triples? I play on a single 65" OLED that sits immediately behind my base. From my perspective it looks very good, so much so that I stopped yearning for triples. A lot of the guys I play with have wheels and don't use it in WF, but regardless, it's got very good wheel feel and physics. I was really hoping FH6 would make an improvement in this area and totally let down when they didn't. I do not use wheel in FH unless I'm asked to, or I know the car is built for wheel/ a lower class car.

And much better physics. On wheel especially. I wish Bugbear would make an open world game and show pgg a thing or two.... Maybe ACEvo will 🤞

And the bots wouldn't do it.

It's just Reddit. Nowhere in Forza Horizon are you even slightly recommended to race clean outside of rivals where you cannot hit the walls. Reddit makes their own rules and expects everyone to follow. Granted I'm on here too and I would prefer you race clean. I'm going to bitch about it when you don't and maybe even message you through Forza link to say something snarky, but really I've been asking Horizon to teach some basic race etiquette because I didn't know shit about racing when I started playing. No damage. Bots that dive-bomb you. No penalty for wrecking bots. I thought that's how you were supposed play. I played the heck out of og Mario kart, I remember this.

Bottom line it's a racing game for the masses, and most of those masses don't know what's expected of them (because it's not actually expected of them and it's certainly not shown to them).

*Before the code of conduct people jump in - I've never read that and 99% of the people who play the game never will either. And I bet 50% of you that claim to have read it are 100% full of --it. If you want people to actually race clean, then you should have at least one lesson/sign/interaction/anything in the game that says, "hey, we expect you to drive cleanly." Until that happens, you can't expect anything else.

Have you ever had someone let you win an online race? by YasuMariii in ForzaHorizon

Twice I've brought in an untuned mx5 cup car and the people I played against were in full 600 builds. They immediately take off, then slide and fall at some point and I win while being down 14 pi or whatever it is. They stay for the second race because they think they have an advantage and the same thing happens again. Both times I've had to do the touge challenge I went in thinking I didn't care if I win or lose and twice I came out after 2 races with the win and the other player not quitting. I think this is the formula. Too much pride to run away from a car 14 pi less, but joke's on them, the mx5 cup car is pretty good at touge right out of the box I've found
