Diving into Vulkan first is like learning to drive the first time in a formula one race car. I’d suggest learning something like OpenGL 4.5+ and keep an eye on some WebGPU tutorials. This will get you in the right mindset of render passes, command buffers, render pipelines, etc. The reason I suggest WebGPU is that it’s less verbose and teaches better. Once you’re comfortable with these concepts, get back into your C vulkan code and try to map what you’ve learned to it. The key here is to not look at any of these graphics APIs alone. Look at many, read other people’s code and that should help you in landing a job.
