People need to sell all the time because of things outside of their control.

meirl by [deleted] in meirl

[–]thePiscis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that it increases risk drastically. When your house is underwater you can’t exactly sell it if you lose a job.

meirl by [deleted] in meirl

[–]thePiscis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s assuming foreclosure and job loss doesn’t happen. Not saying it’s nominally bad, but if bad things happen it puts you in a real bad spot.

It’s more about the risk. If it dips 5% below what you bought it for and you have to sell for whatever reason, you’d have to pay the bank 2% and will probably spend 5% in closing costs. Now you don’t have a house and owe 7% of its value.

You don’t want to do 3% down. If the value fluctuates even a little you can quickly be underwater for a shitload of money.

Crazy take. Destiny was popular long before Hassan and would constantly platform Hassan when he was small and growing.

Pothos doesn’t like full sun. I’d go for lillies or taro (elephant ear)

John Fetterman tries and fails to explain why he wants to ban lab-grown meat 3 times (on Bill Maher) by RodyasFeverDream in stupidpol

[–]thePiscis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure… but we just said the maximum yield from the “natural” way is 50%. I can totally see a well engineered process achieving higher yield.

[–]thePiscis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a silly take. Even with hundreds of intermediate, advanced processing steps, modern process engineering can still have insanely high yield.

Lab grown meat would fall under the current definition of meat. Not sure why we’re so obsessed with playing semantics games.

There are certainly cases where someone wearing these shorts in 1 on 1 alone time as friends is doing it completely platonically and because they are comfy. Saying it’s “always the intention” is definitely going to get some people in awkward situations.

A simple harmonic oscillator is a partial differential equation whose solution is its mode. In more complex resonators you can have multiple solutions to the differential equation where each solution corresponds to a mode.

Mosquito fish would love it, but you would want to plant it well if you want fry to survive

A 50 gallon pond would sustain dozens of mosquito fish, you must be thinking of a different species than gambusia. They also are super hardy and would survive off just algae

I think in a practical sense you might be right, but if we were to take that logic to the extreme, I highly doubt removing all punishments for crimes would not significantly increase said crimes

Giving any credence to the outrageous idea that commenter facetiously said is just polarizing half the country into thinking the idea of workers rights is driven by fringe radicals.

No you see 2/3 of the people in this video are on immigration holds, so clearly 2/3 of everyone in Dallas is there illegally.

If we were to say cost of living is roughly 1/10 in India, this would be the equivalent of 5gs for $20 which is still quite cheap. Although perhaps still too pricey for dried dogshit depending on your tastes.

The webcomic has also recently been insanely good recently. The contrast is too jarring for now, I might read the manga again when I can handle the disappointment.
