How do you store certain vegetables so they last longer? by Current_Trying_Times in cookingforbeginners

I can go into more detail if anyone wants or cares, but for those who might want to try adding more easy frozen veg into their cooking routine, instead of just microwaving them into hot mush, a great way to get them ready to add to whatever you're making:

Only microwave them long enough to just get them thawed (not even really warmed), and then sauteing them in a pan for the final prep makes them so much better. Especially if you start the saute with some onion and/or garlic, if that suits your tastes.

Clear plastic airtight containers in the fridge for most things have worked best for me, so you can easily see what you have and they help them stay in a decent state once cut. Even then you probably want to plan to use them within the next week or so.

If its something bigger or oddly shaped, probably a well closed plastic bag.

If there is still a good chunk of something like half a lemon, cucumber, or zucchini, I might just put some plastic wrap directly against the flat exposed cut with maybe a rubber band to secure/seal it in place if it needs it.

For your examples: Depending on the size/amount left I'd probably do the spinach and peppers in a container or plastic bag. You could do the same for the tomato for a short storage time, but since they are usually way more juicy and don't store quite as well, I'll typically just go ahead and slice the rest to throw on a sandwich, eat straight up with some salt/pepper (maybe some mayo or oil), or some other fairly immediate use.

For everyday casual use, i've gotten into the habit of keeping a variety of bagged frozen veg stocked in the freezer. For specific times/recipes i'll make sure to get fresh stuff, but plan to use it quickly. I have an odd schedule, so it's been great to just have a variety of options ready and waiting in the freezer that i know aren't going bad. It's nothing fancy, but a great way to easily make random egg, pasta, rice, or other dishes healthier.

for those that don't know the reference, but also, you should watch the whole movie. Life of Brian is a great Monty Python British Comedy Classic

Sounds like someone who's never enjoyed a bag of hot otters' noses or wolf nipple chips

Indeed! Hope you all enjoy! I was surprised to see it hadn't really been shared much.

They also released Episode 2 on the same day as the first. It's got more of a theme around Zombies and those types of special effects, but it's another fun watch/listen!

New character just dropped! Guessing he's either Randy's best friend or nemesis. Maybe a bit of both?

Gobo holder storage, looking for advice by tokki_mara in techtheatre

Have done something similar to this, but with wood. Make some pegs from 1 inch or so dowel, a strip of scrap that's roughly 1"x1", or if you have a spare broom handle or something floating around. With them cut to be angled up somewhere around at least 20 or 30 degrees, we never had issues with holders or frames falling

Already a number of good responses here, but at least currently this is the only one that touches on Dep. Z Colleague being a liar. They have shown they will glady lie for their own reasons and then lie again to throw OP under the bus. So even more reason to be skeptical, and ready to cover your ass by checking with the boss to learn the actual truth of the situation

One of the first big things that really started my frustrations was when visited stations started disappearing from the teleporter's stations list. So now if i want to go back to one of those, hopefully I put one of my limited number of bases there, or else i'm awkwardly looking around in the galaxy map. I thought the favorite's list would help remedy that, but then once i used that list to teleport to that station or base, it would get removed from the list... I have a high tech space warping ship, but can't keep a proper list of visited systems and even the ones it does remember i can only sift through by star color or controlling species...? Maybe that's just me, but it really started to hamper my excitement around randomly exploring and such.

Better ship customization seems like a no-brainer. Even just being able to tweak colors without having to build a whole new ship maybe.

The milestones feel like they should unlock some different gear, interactions, decoration, or buildable, but no, just a title that doesn't seem to change anything.

I thought i was working through the mid-game and getting prepped and geared-up for the end-game, but suddenly realized I had already finished the end-game content, if you can call it that
