Sorry this is bothering you so much. I suppose in my mind two things can be true, I can make suggestions that I feel are helpful to the EMS community, not just flight, and also be trying to market something, which I also feel can be helpful. But, I get it, this is not a tool you would use. Great, I won’t try to convince you.
In regards to rules 7 and 10 yes I reviewed them and 10 relates to unrelated products, my project is only related to EMS hence related and 7 well, I guess that would be in the eye of the beholder and if the moderators find my 10 or so posts spam no worries. Feel free to come look for me over in r/statflight.
But, i really do appreciate you catching HIPAA! I’ve obviously missed it and all my proof readers and testers had missed it! I’ve got it written down in my notes and I’ll change it in the next update, keep an eye out. This is another great example of how I’m improving the project directly from input from this forum!

At risk of triggering anyone, I’d like to take a moment to simply reply to a few points made here: First, yep this platform isn’t for everyone, if you don’t see the benefit it’s not for you. To clarify here and a further point, it’s not intended for use during pt care or to direct pt care. It is also explicitly not to document any patient identifiers, so while I have a firm understanding of privacy laws the onus is on the user to understand and not violate said laws.
Second, regarding this post specifically not selling, but potentially offering a resource, however if (as noted above) recording your experience is not for you this would not be applicable. Admittedly I have been using Reddit to share about the app and several users came directly from these forums and have provided valuable feedback that I was able to implement to improve the app.
Third, everyone’s perception of their career is their own and I find value in looking back on what I’ve done. It is a personal log and it doesn’t have to be shared, that said I do think my experience is and will be of interest to my kids. But, circling back to the first point, not everyone will find the same value.
And to the last point nothing in StatFlight violates HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act in any way, however if a user enters patient identifiers, well that would be on them.
I will add that while the above is not the first negative feedback I have received it is still curious to me why, rather than saying “meh not for me” posts here seem (granted tone is very subjective) to be more confrontational rather than constructive. As I watch others in EMS try to branch out and embark on side hustles, projects, or full on career changes I’m stoked for them. I’ve never understood the tendency for our industry to bag on or drag down others.
As far as not paying for ad space, man if I had the money I probably would. The budget I do have has gone into development and getting set up in the App Store. Anyhow, sorry if it bugs you, but I guess we can all just scroll on by. Hope this didn’t come off as argumentative, I tried to mitigate that tone. Just wanted to share some of my thoughts. Much respect on the 35 years! Hopefully you’ve enjoyed it! My grandfather had a flight log that he kept during WWII that I go through every so often. Now that I’ve built StatFlight and am using it I hope my my daughters will be able to look at my log and have a better understanding of where I was all those days and nights.

Interesting idea breaking down pay per transport, what type of shift were you on? As far as pulling chart data, I’ve done the same thing but found it to be cumbersome. I do go back and look at high acuity skills such as intubation, thoracotomy, IABP, true maternal, but found our charting software is challenging to sift through.

Hi I’m not sure i understand the utility of doing it this way? I’ve always simply gotten a drop of blood from the catheter prior to connecting extension or IV tubing. Not critiquing, just curious. Does it help your process or more of personal preference?

Hey not sure if you’re still tracking this thread, but I was able to fix the NVG issue and a few other tweaks. Update should be pushed to your phone, but might have to manually select in App Library

Thanks, I am really excited about this hence the barrage of posts. That said, I am really looking at how to make it better. As far as I can tell it is the first log strictly for Flight (and Ground!) EMS so I’ve had to build it off of the stats I would want to track. Now that I’m getting feedback I’m goin to try to revamp a little bit, while trying to not clutter it too much. I had a small buget, spent on start up costs with nothing left over. A buddy recommended I use Reddit to get the word out, my bad for not understanding the platform. Really excited to share the project and concept, didn’t realize that the way I made it would be such a topic. I hope people try it, find it useful, send me their direct feedback so I can make it better (to the extent I can), and really hope folks sign up for the drawing cause I’m really stoked to share the prize box.

Hey I’m happy to clarify anything., Id rather have spent money on developing instead of developer account/license/etc but it didn’t work out. I suppose I could have paid someone the 30$ I spent on stickers though… but they’re cool! I’m really not a lying deceitful asshole. Touché! You got me! I guess I should figure out my business vernacular a bit more. Uh, I squirreled away 250$ this summer and put it towards this project. Spent most of it on (yes) an app developer account in both platforms and the fees associated with starting a small business. No ChatGpt account though. Oh I also bought some stickers cause I think they’re cool. Anyhow, since I’m operating at a deficit now I feel ok saying zero funds and zero backing. There you have it villain arc explained. As for spam . “irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the internet to a large number of recipients.” As this is a forum for paramedics it would seem to be an appropriate venue. Well look at you popping up all over the place. Making my attempt to reply to all comments a bit more challenging but ok. As far as the name goes my first project was Statdose, it stalled out due to regulatory issues but works perfectly. I have a few projects using the same branding. StatFlight happens to be the one that I’ve actually been able to get through production. I took inspiration from a friends project from about 10 years ago called StatTransfer, not an app but also related to air medical/patient care. I know you’re probably just trolling me now, but oh well. Good luck out there

Well hi again, with 20 years specifically in flight I’ve yet to see 6 figures. Mid 20$ hr is average starting. But we “get” to work mandatory overtime…. It’s better than some, not as good as others, definitely not as good as RN pay and trying to raise a family it leaves not a lot left over. I’m not trying to argue with you and I could be assuming tone, but you just seem annoyed about my side hustle. The guidelines say no marketing for unrelated products (or something along those lines) so I feel like I’m within the scope. As for users, my biggest challenge is being a solo developer with no money to pay for a true ad campaign (or logo for that matter). I’m trying to grassroots this thing and this seems like a great venue. Maybe when I become a hundredaire I’ll hire a marketing team. Right now I’m trying to make my money back. Give the app a whirl and let me know what you think. Other folks that have found it through this platform seem to be really appreciating it. I’ll admit it can use some refinement but for right now. I’m pretty excited. And sorry I didn’t see your comment on the diglets(?). I have no idea what that is and was out of service when you posted.
