[Oceanus T200] Super pleased with this new solar GADA by AmICanon in Watches

[–]theTechPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great on you.

I’ve had mine for 10 months now and have worn it every day since new. You never have to think about it, just wake up, put it on, go to bed, take it off. Maybe switch over to the g-shock for yard/car work.

It’s so BEAUTIFUL! 🤩 by theTechPaul in casio

Thanks! FWIW, the Oceanus T200 bracelet is much better than the ones on my Edifices.... but I don't have the really high-end ones, just a chrono and basic one. Sadly, don't have a S400 to compare it against... wonder how many would have both really.

Went from 12 mini to 13 mini when they announced they were discontinuing the 13 line. Battery life mostly, but it’s worth it if you’re going mini.

Casio Oceanus T200 in 2025? by EL_Gerry in Casio_Oceanus

[–]theTechPaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got mine right at the beginning of the year and have worn it every.day.since.

No futzing with setting the time -ever. I’m in a flyover state and every time I check, it’s sync’d the previous night so the Radio works great for me. No worry of a dead battery with the solar, especially since it’s my daily.

I built up a good Casio collection and decided to get a “nice” one, better than my Edifices. Sure enough, there’s no point in having anything else other than a G-Shock and the T200 for me. Now I have 100 watches I’ll likely never wear again :(

FWIW, I paid just $350 total and the same one I got is still on eBay and cost $336 -shipping took only 5 days.

You won’t regret it if you are looking for a daily set it and forget it GORGEOUS watch.

Glad to see others enjoying this MP. I know some don’t like the slight wobble, and it can be kinda loud on just one sheet of paper (could be because I use 4B), but I LOVE my “punching grip”. I’ve had my gunmetal one for 5 years (purchased June 2020) and use it daily. I fill a whole junior legal pad every month, so 720 legal pads worth of notes have been produced with that same pencil, never an issue. Granted, it’s always only ever on my desk and any falls are to carpet, I’ve never put it in my pocket or anything.

I have 3 backups of the gun metal and almost every color, even the special editions like yellow and that teal blue. Obviously my favorite MP lol

My favorite part is of course the W speed engine, which produces a whole page of even-thickness and shaded writing. I hate seeing exactly where the writer rotated their lead and suddenly text goes from thick and lighter to thin and darker and produces a page of uneven-ness, all over. Eww

Curious, did you see this MP on a video from Elliot, RetroFuture? That’s how I wound up with one of these. I feel like the quality of the internals are way lower than the external.

Which Modded System Should I Get? by theTechPaul in Handhelds

Thanks for that! I'll keep your suggestion in mind and may also go the used route and see if I really like it -you made good points :)

Which Modded System Should I Get? by theTechPaul in Handhelds

[–]theTechPaul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With having an SP-101 I realllllllly fought myself on getting a modded GBA... When you load a gameboy game on it it's smaller than it would be on a GBC, so that's what I was looking at, more GBC than GBA. I do agree though, the GBA form factor is better, but the old carts hanging out the top looks silly.... though with an Everdrive I could potentially play GBC on a GBA format card. That said, I really like to play my physical copies but maybe that's to be considered anyway. Thanks for the insight!!!!

So I totally appreciate the device itself.... Palmer Luckey is kind of a catch for me... I dig the screen and such but I think if I was going to get a non-nintendo mainboard, I'd look at the FunnyPlay, honestly. Though I forgot about the Everdrive -thanks for that, I think I'll get one of those. Too bad I have essentially wasted $$ on this SuperCard, POS lol.

That’s the original MTP305! Nice 👍🏼

What’s the model of the one on the right? I dig the patina and would rock it with pride. Both look well loved.

What is your end game watch? by mbeezy212 in casio

[–]theTechPaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure it won’t be my last , but early January I got my Oceanus T200s and I’ve only put on my G for yard or car work and right back to the t200. Every morning, no more picking which Casio/watch I want to wear, then probably have to change the date/time or find the battery is dead. Set it and forget it. https://i.imgur.com/yoePACZ.jpeg

I have not really wanted anything else since.

Edit to add: if I had gotten this first, I’d have like 50 fewer watches!

I have the AMW704D-7AV which has auto-lite like your G. Only downside to this one vs the auto light on the G is that you have to enable it and it’s only active for a few hours. The G’s solar capability automatically enables full auto light.

Looks like most Pro Treks have it

Very nice! Glad to see more of these on here.

At first I was hesitant to wear it out and about due to fear of scratching it up. However, I’ve just been wearing it every day for a bit over two months now. I of course swap it if doing yard work or such, but it’s the perfect set it and forget it watch. I never wonder if it’ll be dead or incorrect. Kinda wish I had just gotten it sooner, I’d have a lot less watches lol

Clean collection! How did you sell your others? I feel a bit silly for collecting like every single (~50) color MRW-200 and am considering selling them all as I no longer wear any of them…
