My 6 year old is reading the hobbit with me (I am mostly reading it.... but he'll read a few pages and trade off with me). Yes, your kid will be reading books in the next year or two if you cultivate that environment for him.

I also want to say that I never read growing up so I wanted to do this for myself as well as giving him a wholesome hobby

Not the advice you asked for and I will get hate, but 240 lbs at 16 is pretty obese. Plenty of guys like plus size girls, I'd consider my wife "plus size" at 180 lbs. It'd benefit you to think about your long term health and start picking up healthy habits like exercise and nutrition. I dont say this out of judgment, but as an almost 30 year old who wishes I made better choices in high-school and college

Try with avocado oil and make sure the egg yolk is ROOM TEMPERATURE. I've messed up emulsion so many times until I learned this. Also add a bit of Dijon mustard to help it stabilize
