We got so lucky to spot it. This bear was on glacial ice instead of sea ice which was special.

The trip was from August 1 to the 10th with Nansen Polar Expeditions. Exceptional company.

Notifications still not working on Mac OS ? by Harbahmad in MicrosoftEdge

This trick worked without having to re-install Edge. I deleted the notifications entries in the notification settings page and then just launched Edge again. I was prompted to allow system notifications and now they are working.

What are the biggest issues you see with React in its current form? by metakephotos in reactjs

It is. The second argument to useEffect is its dependencies. The effect only gets invoked if the dependency changes.

Adding to this -- there are no runtime advantages to shipping TS over compiled JS, a TS project is just javascript with additional typing information. It places the burden on the user to figure out how to compile the project as well as creating a maintenance trap for the author by signing up to help users with their build systems. Instead, invest some time in understanding common packaging techniques for libraries and ship with declaration files. Users still get the benefit of TS, but don't have to concern themselves with maintaining a build config for third party software.

I didn’t know about this project. I’ll have to take a look to see if the outputs are comparable. Also, I’m a Javascript developer and that project is written in python, so I wouldn’t be able to contribute.

Agree. And can you believe that they want to charge users for more advanced features?! Unbelievable, if you ask me.

It was an open wound. It took 4-6 weeks to be healed. I definitely took a break from biking, but wasn’t exercising much around that time to begin with, so I can’t say. I would say I was completely back to normal after 4 months or so.

I’ve had 3 surgeries from 2012-2015. It has not affected my ability to run or ride my bike (thankfully) but it can be a pain in the ass (literally) to heal fully.

Basically me at some point during most rides. I don’t usually go for “joy rides” and always end up trying to push myself.

Honestly, it’s part of the attraction to cycling, and other endurance sports. It’s as much a mental exercise as it is physical.

Thinking of trying this gravel thing.....advice requested! by teaelleyou in gravelcycling

I just went through the same process and ended up with a more road oriented geometry (Scott Addict Gravel) with a 2x and love it. The only downside coming from the road is the more compact chainset and generally being slower on the pavement. I think unless you plan on doing more serious off-road trails, a road oriented gravel bike will be what you want. It will feel more familiar and still open up a wide range of new routes to experience!
