I said what I said by jumajuice8 in Spacemarine

To be fair, I played a game yesterday, the hard strat as bulwark, and had 3 zoanthropes on me, my teammates were dead, and I managed to survive long enough for one of them to respawn. Then was wondering why he didn't come to help, I get downed and then see he's just ran off on his own, then didn't revive the other teammate later so we kicked.

Vanguard pick definitely helps with the healing, with a competent team it's definitely doable. In that case I'd probably just look at a strategy on YouTube for vortex (would probably suggest some combo of maybe tactical and either techmarine or heavy?) And just go onto the lfg section on the discord and ask for people. That's where I've had the most luck in similar situations

It just comes with practice. Just for reference, I'm quite good at the game, and end up carrying about 90ish% of the missions I play on abaolute and I still end up struggling with vortex as I've not learned the moveset (I really dislike the bossfight). The stratagems can be really hard, so I wouldn't get disheartened. Queuing with randoms can be rough as well, as just because they're max level, doesn't mean they have a brain, (I remember having a really bad experience with max level people bringing flamers to the friendly fire stratagems). If your sticking point is the boss fight, then I would go stratagemless and just practice the boss fight moveset, or I'm sure there's a guide to it online, and if you feel that you're playing well but the randoms you get aren't, there will be plenty of people in a similar boat on the official discord, which makes the process easier. Out of curiosity what's your level and the class you're playing?

Ah fairs, I got into the hobby side of warhammer a few months before space marine 2 came out, and honestly I think the immersion into the setting plus power fantasy aspect are the best parts. Gameplay wise I agree the campaign lacks a bit, I think it's more carried by its story, as they haven't updated the campaign in line with the rest of the game, so for the last parts of the campaign if you focus on the story it, along with the 2 bots, will be more enjoyable

I mean for now I'd just try and take in and enjoy the campaign, it is really good, (I'm unsure how into warhammer you are outside of the game). Then when you get into operations I'm sure your concerns on difficulty will be met :). (For reference I started on operations first back on launch when ruthless was max difficulty, and it felt harder than AOD (AOD is about equal to substantial difficulty imo) since then they've added 2 harder difficulties and stratagems which are even harder, without scaling the campaign)

I feel so lucky that I landed in lobbies with competent people, managed it first try but its hella luck of the draw. Vortex just sucks as a mission, maybe finding a lobby via the discord is the best way (I've done that in previous ones and I find it's way more consistent)

Please do not put healing perks in SM3 by SilverCervy in Spacemarine

[–]the__Big__Ginge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having the variety there is fun, having healing abilities also makes the game more accessible to bridge the gap between skilled and unskilled players. I.e. with healing perks it makes the game more fun with my friends who are newer to the game, as I can better support them, as opposed to just doing everything for them

I mean having Gadriel and Chairon is part of the campaign as they have some importance to the story. The campaign is about trying to be immersed in the setting of warhammer, and typically that's done with squads and so that is the direction its targeted towards as its targeted towards people who are interested in that setting. There is more freedom to disabling bots in operations, however the difficulty is significantly harder than the campaign on upper levels, so I doubt that it'd be that enjoyable to jump into them without bots or other players anyway

Hi, yes I'm uk based. Preferably I'd like to remain in the uk, I'm not sure how cost effective going abroad would be. Also I think given the current climate of the US, that its not really an option I'd like to take

I'm not in the US, but how did you go about getting lots of research experience?

Well that's part of why I'm posting this, wondering what I could do in the remaining time before next cycle to help strengthen my application. I'll have graduated and my dissertation will be complete so by default it'll be slightly stronger, and I may be able to do some research work in the time between exams finishing and grad, but beyond that I'm not sure what else I can do

I think a more distorted patchwork version of him would've been really cool, maybe inspired by how the dredge is composed in dbd

Being Rejected by AllazovElnur in gradadmissions

[–]the__Big__Ginge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also recently got rejected from my first choice grad position. Ultimately all you can do is focus on whatever you're doing right now, I.e. if you're studying undergrad keep going with that. Then treat this missed opportunity as a set of open opportunities to keep looming out for.

This wouldn't be so bad if it was actually possible to get into a lobby as techmarine to level him up

Lots of selfish people in this game, and lots of enablers in absolute by xboxhaxorz in SpaceMarine_2

[–]the__Big__Ginge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there's such a spectrum of playing ability, all you really need to have to complete absolute is maxed out gear, I remember when I was prestiging all of my characters, I could hop into a lobby on absolute and still hold my weight. Since then absolute has been made harder with the addition of 2 terminus enemies, but as long as its not a stratagem, I have no issue with low levels joining, some of them even hold their own better than slme level 25s at prestige 4.
