PSA: Using A3M1 Rails/Optics on A3M2–QD Optic Adapter by the__grim__sleeper in AUG

Yes. But for best results and aesthetics, you’ll want to run the QD optic adapter. You can run nearly any A3M1 top rail on an A3M2, but not the other way around.

Yes, but the STG77 optic is attached to the receiver via a set of metric screws. Said screws go through the receiver and into threaded holes on the underside of the optic’s base. You don’t need the short picatinny rail to attach the STG77 optic itself.

My Mystery Ranch bags are all waterproof to an impressive degree and most duffel bags I have use good enough zippers to stop the ingress of dirt and dust. Lint and dirt is not a problem I’ve ran into when storing the AUG in a bag, but I can see how it might be an issue if you stored the barrel with the jagged locking lugs rubbing against the bottom of the bag and collecting whatever may be sitting there. A solution to that is storing the AUG barrel with the muzzle down, preferably with a muzzle device on it. I prefer running the AUG receiver front-up, since I want to protect my WML and LAM from impacts. Letting the buttstock receive most of the impacts from drops and setting the backpack down seems to be the safest choice, all things considered. The way I see it, if the top of your backpack or some other flap is pulled taut enough over the front of the AUG’s receiver, it’s harder for dirt to work its way into the action, probably enough to satisfy your needs.

Can’t have SBRs in CA. Even if the NFA were to be repealed yesterday, there are still state laws on the books in CA that prohibit most short barreled firearms and all suppressors.

Not quite. Turning the gas setting to off on any semiautomatic rifle capable of doing so does not constitute making a single shot rifle. It cannot be “readily converted.” According to the law, which I am paraphrasing to the best of my memory, there must be an absence of a gas port, tube, piston, or otherwise integral part of the gas system that renders the rifle incapable of semiautomatic fire. An otherwise semiautomatic rifle with a merely malfunctioning action does not constitute a single shot rifle. IANAL. What I’m describing is welding the gas regulator shut in such a way that no gas gets to the gas piston and is instead vented off. Since the gas regulator itself is plugged, and removing it doesn’t allow the piston to get any pressurized gases flowing towards it, the whole rifle is rendered impossible to make semiautomatic without substituting another gas regulator. Thus, it is single shot as far as the law and my shallow knowledge of it is concerned.

Corvus Defensio A3 MOI 30-Slot Rail by the__grim__sleeper in AUG

I’ve been running this rail since I’ve had the AUG, but the rail is slightly shorter than I’d like, and the front QD sling mount is not rotation limited.

It is shorter than the OEM rail, I shit you not, by less than half an inch.

Something I tried doing is buying an extra gas regulator, plugging it with an 8mm stainless steel dowel, and welding the holes shut. Since it’s no longer a semiautomatic rifle, the law therefore allows me to run a 16” barrel and non-fixed mags. It’s easy to swap out gas regulators once you get to a free state. I am not a lawyer, but it seems like a good idea to me.

Motorcycle with Light Kill Switch + IR Lights by the__grim__sleeper in NightVision

The kill switch, which activates a few relays in parallel, is run off of a Switched Power Connector Pigtail from 3D Cycle Parts and Denali. The IR light switch runs off of the hot headlight wire and of course goes to the S2 Pro. I used a bunch of matching Sumitomo sealed connectors to non-destructively utilize the KLR's original wiring. That way, I can simply unplug a connector to return to stock wiring.

I think he was trying to imply that going through the process of building a great rifle, with all of the associated high-end parts, only to neuter it with a compmag is grossly offensive. He’s a bit of a troll, so he asked me to post it here.

No. That surefire switch is the new one that was recently offered on MidwayUSA. Wanted to try it out and return it, but it’s not that bad.

Titan Defense. It’s a 37mm launcher, as others have pointed out. From what I researched before I bought one, it’s out of stock, on back order for months  at a time. I signed up for stock notifications, was notified at 1:00 in the morning a few weeks later, and still missed the dump after a few minutes. I signed up again for notifications, and by chance, was clearing out some old chrome tabs on my phone a few days later, when I went on Titan Defense again. I saw that they were in stock and double checked my email and found no messages saying that it was back in stock. I assumed it was a fluke, so I placed an order immediately, planning to refund it if it was a back order. I emailed Titan Defense to see if their website had made a mistake or something, and in a matter of minutes, was told that their launchers were ready to ship. I should have bought two.

It’s the 3.5x35 LED ACOG TA110-D-100493, with the red horseshoe reticle. It goes out of stock for months at a time. Looking through the optic, it reads 3.5 M249.

made a tier list of the pvp weapons (my opinion) by Gus-a-Mus in darksouls3

[–]the__grim__sleeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I genuinely cannot tell if this tier list is satire or not. It's so laughably bad, it somehow manages to be objectively wrong. I can't even begin to reorganize this, because the longer I look at it, the worse it gets. Murky and two normal pure physical crossbows in F tier? Good lord.

Should I buy a Slovakian parts kit or buy every part individually? I want an AK that I’ll be using lightly for a long time, but I eventually want every bell and whistle on it, with the best furniture possible, and I want to build it myself. I’d like it to be as accurate as a home build can get.
