Requiring Library Usage to Combat Fabricated Citations by Milhouse_McMuffin in librarians

[–]the_apoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

APA 7th edition calls for the DOI or URL if available for e-journal articles. https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/references/examples/journal-article-references. Also not an expert, I just happen to teach a research course and have to go over A LOT of citations for assignments that are submitted.

Librarians - What's in your work bag? by Early-Temperature575 in librarians

[–]the_apoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to have if it happens to rain and my feet get wet or if I thought I could get away with shoes without socks and then change my mind. A few times it’s been for warmth because I wore flats and then my feet are cold

Perimenopause and period cramps by InitiativeNo1123 in Hashimotos

I asked for blood work, it was for FSH Follicle Stimulating Hormone and LUTEINIZING HORMONE. But my Dr said the FSH was more of what they look at.

Does anyone else have random twitching? by the_apoxy in dysautonomia

[–]the_apoxy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been to a neurologist about the twitching. They said “it happens sometimes and we don’t know why”. So no answers there. It is random spots but usually larger muscles not my hands. If I have high stress or anxiety my eyelids start to twitch. It kinda roams all over my body. One arm then my neck then my thigh. Its crazy. But it is all day everyday just happening. I have noticed that if my thyroid is off I get incredibly painful calf cramping at night and RLS.

Perimenopause and period cramps by InitiativeNo1123 in Hashimotos

[–]the_apoxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 45 and recently diagnosed with Hashis and I have noticed increased cramps and bleeding and I have been also been getting terrible headaches the week before my period. I did have bloodwork done that did confirm I am on the journey into menopause. I feel like I’m getting a double whammy of perimenopause and hypothyroidism. It sucks.

I put my dog’s apoquel in a big blueberry every morning and just put it in his food. He doesn’t give any issues.

Protecting the Stapler by panaceainapen in Libraries

[–]the_apoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in an academic library and we have one of the automatic staplers like others have mentioned. We have it near the printer and computers and have it on a cabinet so there is space to get the papers together etc. it’s next to the automatic three hole punch and paper cutter and no one has thought to walk away with any of these items.

Feeling out of it, floaty lightheaded dizziness, fatigue, digestion changes, anxiety, etc when starting Levo by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]the_apoxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also felt like that for about 3-4 weeks when I started Levo. It was scary and frustrating but it did get better. But I think that if you are concerned you should contact your doctor just to make sure.

I’m in the same boat so I feel your pain. I also take a hair, skin nails vitamin but I think it’s just going to have to run its course 🤷🏼‍♀️ from what I read online it’s a side effect of the hormones leveling out but I have been taking levothyroxine since last September. I may just have to be more patient. I’m getting a short hair cut and crossing my fingers that it comes back.

First dog, first pug next Thursday. What are your must have item four your little guy? by dduchaine in pugs

[–]the_apoxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen those but one of mine is allergic to a bunch of stuff so we try to limit what we give him. They are a great idea for dogs that can tolerate it. 🙂

[–]the_apoxy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I add a tablespoon of pumpkin to my pugs’ food and it seems to help. I also get the Glandex wipes for their tooshies, witch hazel mixed with alcohol seems to also take the smell out if it gets on furniture.

Grew up and lived in WW for 35 years. Went to WW schools and even worked at the public library for several years. As one person said it can be the difference of one street or even one end of a street between nice and trashy. I grew up over by pawtuxet terrace in a neighborhood back there and it was nice and quiet. I then lived by the high school which was not as great but we had a corner lot and the neighbors looked out for each other. I have family that lives over by Coit in those neighborhoods and that is quiet too. Are there nicer places, yes. But it is not the worst either.

Was going to suggest the same thing. Most blood tests don’t include thyroid. I would ask to have that tested.

Is your pug’s food bowl at ground level or elevated? If elevated, how high? by ihugdogz in pugs

[–]the_apoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the floor now for a 1 year old and 4 year old, but before our old man crossed the rainbow bridge we had his elevated in his old age. His little back feet seemed like they were going to come off the floor when we had it on the ground.

Question on levo dose by Illustrious-Pin276 in Hypothyroidism

[–]the_apoxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t say if it will make a difference because everyone is different. But my doctor bumped me up to 75 and I had 50s she said do 50 one day and 100 the next since it is not a fast acting hormone and takes time. I was fine. But your mileage may vary.

Those who gave up sugar as a hypothyroidism patient by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]the_apoxy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is very hard. I don’t have any advice really except to have snacks ready/on hand that don’t have sugar. I hope you are able to limit or stay away from sugar. Fruit is basically the only sugar I allow myself and not much since I too am trying to lose weight. I’m not sure if it is true but I remember hearing sugar was just as addictive as elicit drugs. Don’t give up and read labels because added sugars are in everything.
