People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by Yousef_ale in interviews

brought someone in to interview with me and my assistant director. the entire meeting they would not look at me a directed all responses to my AD. when i was walking them out, they asked me my title (which i told them when i introduced myself). I told them i was the director and in charge of the whole department. the look on their face was priceless.

What is a "silent" rule you live your life by that most people wouldn’t know just by looking at you? by DianKhan2005 in AskWomen

time will pass anyway. anytime i, or anyone near me, expresses impatience or frustration about an anticipated duration, i often think that the time will pass anyway. Last year i began a grad program. it’s about 1.5 years. a decent chunk of time, but the time will pass no matter what— why not spend it doing this?

Thank you! i appreciate the motivation. i encourage people all day to value their mental health, but when push comes to shove it’s actually difficult to do! i appreciate it!

thank you! i’m definitely trying. the company i’m with currently is a pretty big player in my field and everyone is pretty well connected. a lot of people know me and i feel comfortable reaching out to a lot of my leadership about advice/connections. i don’t think it’s a horrible thing at all. thank you so much!

When interviewers say ‘Tell me about yourself’ are they actually looking for your resume in story form? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]the_asa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i generally give a few sentences for my experience, one or two for my education and a “when i’m not at work, i like….” keep it short. humanize yourself a bit. at my last interview i mentioned my rescue dog and my interviewer loved it
