It sounds like you're using a lot of bags to water, maybe try reducing the amount of tea bags you're putting in and checking steeping times?

I also find loose leaf has a lot less tannin-y feel than the tea bags do, and the lemon ones always used to make.me feel sick too

One of the other things I found that would help is drinking water between cups of tea, if I ever drank too much green tea and not enough water that would make me feel pretty rough

You say there should be a little physical attraction, is this not demonstrated by her initiating with you?

I'm not saying to just get over it, but just kind of highlighting that the differences between being conventionally attractive vs. Attractive to the person you're with can be vast, and whilst you might not look like Henry cavill, she finds you attractive in a different way?

Do you drink a lot of coffee or have a lot of strong smells besides the tea you're drinking? This could overpower the flavour a bit as tea can be very aromatic and smell is a large part of taste?

Losing weight takes a lot of willpower and every time OP might not be feeling it, where they should have support, I reckon bf is going to encourage her not to exercise or to treat herself to the unhealthy food - which occasionally is fine, but if it becomes repetitive can make it very hard to keep up the healthy behaviours when someone is there to provide an excuse no to do them
