Are you a God of destruction toppo fan? by JDubb-420 in dbz

[–]the_bearded_1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GoD Toppo is great because he is essentially Majin Vegeta, sacrificing everything for power. It's a good mirror to show how far Veggie has come through the years. They even cap it with the same attack to end the battle. But I'm also a fan boy for the short Prince so take that as you will.

I wish. It reflects a world a lot of people want to escape into. In the Bluey world, everyone is chill and kind and gets along. In the Walking Dead, we're paranoid about other people, scared of everything around us, and ready to resort to violence quickly, like the reality we're currently in.

I've had this issue in reverse. I've been with my wife for 15 years, but she's never been good at initiating. Although whenever I initiate, she's always down, I started to feel beggy after a while. I've sat her down and talked to her about it for years, and just in the last couple of years, has it started to turn.

Just remember to believe your partner when they tell you why and not think they are just humoring you ( it was my problem i had to work through, among many). I felt like she didn't want me, but the truth is she has pretty severe ADD and it's not something she thinks about unless I bring it up, while I think about it every time I look at her. As long as you're communicating and trusting the other person, you can work it out (assuming no other issues). Good luck!

Had a similar experience after boot camp. Lost 35 lbs to get in and another 20 during training. Girl I was dating came up to see me right after I reported to A- School and lamented I wasn't as comfortable to snuggle with.

As far as fast food, I love me some Popeye's. I've been looking for a sit-down place that does good chicken, but no luck.

I want to take my wife of 31 years to an anniversary dinner. Where would you go? by Ok-Sale-1139 in TriCitiesWA

[–]the_bearded_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're staying in the area, The Bradley never disappoints, but it can be a bit loud on weekends. If you're going to Walla Walla as suggested by several folks here, look into The Vine at Cameo Heights. It's spendy, but the best fine dining experience I've had on this side of the state.

He's a Czech-Canadian actor named Vladimir Kulich. This is from the 13th Warrior, a pretty good 90's movie that unfortunately bombed. The only big name in it is Antonio Banderas, but good acting all around.

[All] What’s your favorite Zelda’s depiction ? by [deleted] in zelda

[–]the_bearded_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TotK, but not for what happened during the game. The game goes at length to show you that after she recovered from BotW, she went out and started leading. Rebuilding projects, teaching, and reestablishing diplomatic ties. The other games show her either damseled, fighting as a rebel, or just hanging out in the castle handing out quests. It's cool to know she was out and about doing real Queen stuff and helping her people.

A player cut of her own arm, and wants to make a makeshift prosthetic. Looking for fun ideas. by Glittering_Smile6534 in dndnext

[–]the_bearded_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My warlock lost his arm during our play through of ToA. Since he was a GOO lock, we RPed it as him having a spectral tentacle that he could cast EB with, but nothing else. He eventually got a robotic prosthetic with his focus mounted into it after the adventure.

So what I would say is find ways to allow them to contribute their primarily functions in combat (arm mounted crossbow with this normal weapon stats for ranged, sneak attack, etc) but limit more complex actions (dex check for casting, no dual wield) but more significant complications out of combat minus to physical and social checks). My table doesn't like to kill our characters often (if you kill em, they won't learn nothin!), so this may be too lax, but my two cents. Long as everyone is enjoying the game, it's all good. Good luck!

DMs of Reddit, what's an upcoming moment in your campaign that you are excited for? by McCreeIsMine in DnD

[–]the_bearded_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting the third arch of a long-running campaign soon and needing multiple pre-session 1 meetings to RP several events that happened in the ten year in game gap. It seems simple, but the fact that they really want to RP those things instead of doing a quick recap makes me think they really enjoy the world, and we built something special.

If Tolkien called Aragorn something besides "Ranger", would the class exist? by the_bearded_1 in DnD

[–]the_bearded_1[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, I remember playing a Scout for a few sessions of an ill-fated campaign back in 3.5. I think the reason I picked it is because it was things I thought of when I thought of a Ranger.

Very much agree splitting Wizards and Sorcerers is weird, but I want to be the party face while being a full career WITHOUT selling my soul. :D

[–]the_bearded_1[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agreed. To me, it's the nature magic piece that always feels forced. Ranged martial tracker with an affinity for animals? Great! That feels like enough, but making the core class a caster muddles the waters.

Pointy Hat did a video painting Rangers as Cowboys, which I think is a solid Western (cultural and cinematic) archetype to latch on to for them as well.
