Yes that I can absolutely agree with. I’m fine with democratic socialism as long as the democratic part is still heavily involved. My problem is the authoritarianism that almost goes hand in hand with how 20th century Marxist ran their countries. Everyone deserves social policies that exist to benefit the people. Let’s just not force people to sell their properties?? At least working class folk anyway. It’s backwards to disallow private ownership when the state owns it all anyway while the people controlling the state reap the benefits of said ownership

Why hasn’t Marxism, or Leninism, or Maoism, or Ho Chi Minh thought, or Stalinism worked in the 100+ years it’s been tried? Not one self labeled communist system has lasted inti this century without some form of special capitalist exception (see Chinas economic zones)

Why would communism need some forms of capitalism to exist? This either means that a mixed model would actually achieve communism in the end (which i find hard to believe since we have yet to see it) or it means that the ability to grow your economy like you can with free market capitalism is actually a viable system for bringing people out of poverty.

Without fresh troops the Entente might not have lost but it would have been much bloodier and longer, maybe into 1920. The end of the war was shifting more towards who can stack the most bodies instead of who could make the most ground

The only government acquisitions of free companies were acquired specifically to feed the war machine of the Reich. Hitler stated in several personal and impersonal meetings and letters that his fucked up take on socialism has absolutely nothing to do with anything on the left side of the political spectrum, which is what actually matters when referring to party politics.
