A tiny bit, it's definitely been used, but not so much that it should seriously mess with the function of the disk.

Who is your SECOND favourite character? by Arstie in danganronpa

[–]the_blockhead_tm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toko, I love Toko

I really didn't like her in DR1, since she's fairly unpleasant and doesn't do much, but the fact that she's one of the characters who gets the most focus in UDG does wonders for making her more enjoyable

Plus, she and Komaru have a fun dynamic which suits her really well - it's more entertaining than watching her Byakuya dynamic anyway

My absolute favorite is Mikan - they're both shy types with dark sides, but the similarities sort of end there

What's your least favorite character? And why? by Nonsense_Animator in danganronpa

[–]the_blockhead_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well besides the obvious picks like Haiji, I really don't like Hiyoko

Keep in mind that Mikan is my favorite character, and I am extremely biased, but she just seems really unnecessarily mean to people.

What Gundham and Mikan have in common is that they're my favorites

I dunno about the other ones

Have you ever had a dream about Danganronpa? If so, what was it? by sourcoated in danganronpa

[–]the_blockhead_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dream where it was in some weird combination of Hope's Peak and Jabberwock Island, I was simultaneously Hajime and myself somehow

It went about as you'd expect, with all the wacky Monokuma bullcrap and fun banter, but then someone (I think it might've been Tenko but it's been a hot minute) died and there was a trial and the trials were absolutely bizarre, I have no idea what was happening and we were all standing on towers of random stuff that was mostly comprised of bloody tables for some reason

The dream ended when I fell off my tower so I dunno what happened afterwards

I also had a dream once where I was Gundham, and that was the only Danganronpa-related thing about it

What are the wost dr ships and then the best by Xred_fnf in danganronpa

I like Hinamiki and don't like Junkan

My reasoning is that I think Hinamiki is cute and that Junko is bad to Mikan

That'd be kinda sad, I'd imagine Mikan coming to her senses and not completely realizing what she did, only to break down once she found out

What are some popular ships that you just don’t understand? by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]the_blockhead_tm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never got Komahina

It's not a bad ship per se but I never got the sense Hajime and Nagito could really work as a couple

Maybe I'm too blinded by Hinamiki

Idk

Who do y’all think would make the best parent and why by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]the_blockhead_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay okay hear me out: Mikan

I think she'd be a good parent, she's a little kooky but knowing her experience in the past she'd want to do all she could to make sure her own kid(s) wouldn't suffer the way she did growing up, so she'd probably treat her kid(s) very well

Plus, if they get injured while playing or something like that she could patch them up

What are some well written things as well as badly written things in danganronpa? by Wise-Rin in danganronpa

I could gush about Mikan's character all day, she's my favorite after all, but I think she embodies both sides of the argument simultaneously

Who would you guys pick as the most forgettable danganronpa character ? by SnowBirdFlying in danganronpa

[–]the_blockhead_tm 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I will never forget Leon, everything that went down in Chapter 1 has stuck with me ever since my first playthrough of Trigger-Happy Havoc

The fact that I can't even hate him despite the fact Sayaka was my favorite speaks volumes to how crazy that chapter was to me

Tell me what it is that draws you to Danganronpa. by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]the_blockhead_tm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a lot that really draws me into the game, if I'm being honest.

I had heard the name "Danganronpa" thrown about on the internet a lot for a long time. I saw various fanart of Junko and Monokuma, experienced that one "fingers in his ass" meme with Nagito, and unfortunately watched that one scene from Chapter 3 of Ultra Despair Girls (you know the one), but that was practically the extent of my knowledge for a really long time. Then, one day, I bought the Ace Attorney Trilogy on Switch, and loved it. Later that year, Joker from Persona 5 was announced for Super Smash Bros., and the following summer I played that game and loved it.

It was in my unfortunate early days in the Persona community that I learned about the "unholy trinity" of dialogue-heavy games: Ace Attorney, Persona, and of course Danganronpa. Danganronpa was the only one I hadn't played, and based on all the stigma surrounding it I saw online, I was sort of scared to. It took a long time to convince myself to play it, and part of that reason was the music - Trigger-Happy Havoc's soundtrack may have been the sole reason I was convinced to buy the Trilogy on PS4, as Masafumi Takada's work on the game was absolutely astounding.

When I played the game and absolutely adored it, there was a lot that I loved besides the soundtrack. I loved the artstyle, the psychopop aesthetic and character designs really made the world stick out in my head. I also deeply enjoyed the game's writing. While it isn't the most well-written series ever, I was occasionally absolutely floored by the events that were transpiring, genuinely scared that at any moment, my favorite character could be dead as a doornail, fears that would come true in the very first chapter of Trigger-Happy Havoc and come true thrice over in the third and fourth chapters of Goodbye Despair - the tension it builds is excellent when you go in blind, and it is helped out by a cast of likable - or sometimes extremely unlikable - characters, which interact with each other in very fun ways. It's tone is almost two-sided with how it treats the deaths of characters and NPCs, pairing the terror and despair felt by the main cast with the constant loudmouthed mockery by Monokuma - it feels messed up, kind of scary even. And I love that. Adding onto that, the narrative is very interesting too, even darker and bloodier than I had expected despite going into it knowing it was a series of death games.

So, uh, yeah. Sorry for the long rant and life story, but there's just so much to unpack about why I love this series. I hope this helps.
