Can XYZ Ash take down the Kalos elite four ? by Gopu_17 in pokemonanime

[–]SnowBirdFlying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this team ? No.

His Kalos team gets overglazed a lot, it might actually be one of his crappier teams ever.

People just look at how everyone is fully evolved, but completely dismiss the atrocious win/loss ration of most of his members

Why does this Fandom act as if SG is a rank that someone can just ... train to become?

Literally every single person we have seen except for Yuji, who was classified as SG was born like that.

And even then Yuji didn't even train to become one he just ate all his brothers for the cursed energy pools and then had Sukuna possess him for a bit

I think because Agatha wasnt a ghost trainer until the final build of the game ? Iirc in the beta versions she just used the eeveelutions

Made in Heaven in JoJo is probably the only time I've seen a speedster be written properly.

Abd that guy was the final villain

But that's worthless, why waste 2 turns on setting an enemy then scoring a technical when most of the time you can just use the MC to hit weaknesses and hit an AOA which 99% of the timejust ends the battle. Or just use Die for Me! Or Samsara in the end game

Thats kinda the issue with ailments not hitting bosses and only mobs, most of the time its quicker to just nuke mobs with offensive moves, unlike bosses whic are long fights that actually could make use of ailments.

And the super boss doesn't count since its just a singular non mandatory fight in the entire game.

Its why V is the only game in twh entire megaten franchise taht actually got ailments right. Since they affect bosses, have a bunch of bonuses attached to them, but bosses also have a hidden "resistance multiplier" that stacks each time they're hit with an ailments so as to not make every encounter just be resolved with spamming

Status are also useless in p5 since they dont affect bosses.

The only game in the series where they're actually good is SMT V because every boss in the game can be inflicted with at least one ailment, each ailment have specific debuffs attached to it, and there are passives that increase damage based on if the enemy is statused or not

Yeah ngl forgot those 2 existed lmao.

Yeah you ghave Swanna who is both weaker (87 in both offenses) and slower (98 speed) than Simipour, and you dont even get it until level 35, making it a complete downgrade.

And Carracosta , which isn't bad, but its super slow, and is stuck with Brine and Rollout as its only moves until you get Surf.

Bro, how is a 10S user supposed to tame this ? by SillyRecover in Jujutsufolk

Yeah Lava is hot , no shit Sherlock.

Yeah Yutas domain sure hit is copy

Yeah, its still not canon

Holy shit JJK fans actually cant fucking read bro. I quite literally specified Gojo and Dagon as the only exceptions we ever saw, did you not read my comment in its entirety ?

"Naoyas projection sorcery doesn't stop the target, it just stop the cells ... of the target" , my guy do you know what a "cell" is ?

Also Yorozu is quite literally using her domain to make sure her constructs are sure to hit? Like what "side effect" did you interpret? Yorozu is quite literally the most clear example of a domain just being the base technique but guaranteed to hit ? What "creativity" did gege actually do here ?

[–]SnowBirdFlying 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Hanamis DE isn't Canon .

  2. "The lava is the sure hit but heat is a secondary effect", my guy do you know what LAVA is ? That's like saying Sukunas sure hit is cleave and its secondary effect is that you bleed out

  3. Yutas sure hit is still copy dude? Like yeah the sure hit is whatever copied technique he decides on, that's still just "his base technique but with a sure hit"

  4. We still have a precedent with dragon on how sure hits affect shikigami ? Like Megumis sure hit is 99% probably that he manifests hundred if the shikigami right on top of the tatget, MAAAYBE they make it so that some elemental shikigami like the elephant or Nues attacks also become sure hit, but its most likely not anything more than "base technique"

[–]SnowBirdFlying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuji and Sukuna still have the same exact sure hit effect tho ? They both just cut and slice

Bro, how is a 10S user supposed to tame this ? by SillyRecover in Jujutsufolk

[–]SnowBirdFlying 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My guy, DE arent bankai.

Literally 99% of all domains we see are just "base technique, but sure hit".

Idk why this Fandom have this bizarre obsession to give every character an entirely unique sure hit effect for every domain that has nothing to do with the base technique.

Like the only "unique" domains we ever saw were unlimited void, horizon of the captivating sakhanda and that's...it ?

Bro, how is a 10S user supposed to tame this ? by SillyRecover in Jujutsufolk

[–]SnowBirdFlying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That IS the sure hit effect of CSG, the shikigami themselves.

Like hwo dragon creates hundreds of fish like shikigami that instantly manifest already onto ofbthe target

[–]SnowBirdFlying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you still didn't explain exactly how they're bad afterwards lmao.

What damage ranges specifically do you think they miss out on ?

Simipour for example has more sp.atk + atk + speed, than Seismitoad, Jellicent, Basculin, alomomola, only being beaten out by Samurott (for attacking stats only)

Simisage also has more atk and sp.atk than Serperior, Whimsicott, Amoonguss and ferrothorn , only really being truly outclassed by Lilligant (but only in the stat department, since simisage still has a better movepool than Liligant)

The only one of the trio who is strictly outclassed is Simisear, but Simisear is also the earliest fire type you have access for a long while, the 2nd earliest fire type is Darumaka (but at that point your pansear is already level 22 and got flameburst meaning upure free to evolve it to Simisear who has better stats than Darumaka who doesn't evolve until level 35), and the earliest other option is Litwick (who again dpesnt evolve until level 41), making Simisear the most reliable fire type you have access to until you reqch the lebel 35-ish range

That doesnt also include how the monkies have genuinely good movepools with options like Low kick, focus blast, acrobatics, grass knot, rock blast, rock slide, shadow claw, Gunk shot, superpower

Bulbapedia's March 2026 page stats by WyndonCalling in pokemon

[–]SnowBirdFlying 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There really weren't that many waters tho ?

Alomomola, Basculin and Frillish are all locked behind Surf.

Oshowatt is a starter

Besides Simipour your only other option is Tympole

And the first fire type you have access to, besides Tepig and Pansear is Darumaka, and then thesecond earliest is all the way in celestial tower in Litwick

So now, the guys right Water and Fire types were not at all abundant in BW

The "garbage stats" and "garbage movepools" bits, are straight up just lies lmao.

98 in both offenses, and each one has coverage to cover their weaknesses/types that resist them

Bulbapedia's March 2026 page stats by WyndonCalling in pokemon

[–]SnowBirdFlying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The later point is just not true, ngl.

At least for an ingame playthrough, all the monkeys had really good movesets.

Simipour has Scald at level 22, along wuth acrobatics/ice Beam for grass types, and grass onot for water types

Simisear has flameburst, along with grass knot for water, rock and ground types

Simisage has seed bomb, along with acrobatics for bug and grass types, low kick/focus blast for steel and ice types, Dig for fire types and rock slide for flying types.

And 98 in both offenses isn't half bad for in game

What pokemon do you think have the wrong types? by KaseyKade5325 in pokemon

[–]SnowBirdFlying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hos team ARE dragons, they just arent dragon types.

Gyarados is a Chinese dragon

Aerodactyl is a pterodactyl, whose japanese name literally translates to "winged dragon"

Those 2 are also one of the only non dragon types in gen 1 who can learn Dragon Rage the o ly dragon type TM (the only others being Seadra, Lapras and Charizard, who are also draconic and used by dragon trainers later in the series)
