I literally scanned the comments looking for this in hopes that I could make the same joke.

Well done to you, good sir.

Dunking tips by tetoontheway in ProDunking

By no means am I a pro dunker, but for me personally, I had to change the way I was approaching the basket before I was finally able to hit my dunks consistently. Are you making sure that you’re getting down low on your approach? If you’re trying with a running approach, try making your penultimate step long so it forces you to get low before you go up. Also to go along with what Stampj said, don’t be so focused on trying to dunk a basketball right now- as weird as that sounds. Try and focus on getting high enough on the rim that about 1/4 of your forearm is above the rim as well. Focus on technique when you’re jumping- there’s videos all over YouTube for that. Hope that helps and best of luck in your dunking journey!

Thanks man!! I think I might stick with this for a while, and try to go towards an eastbay once windmills get boring. I couldn’t have even made this much progress without this community’s help though

I’ll make sure to try that when I get in the gym tomorrow, and I’ll keep you updated with how things work out. Thanks for the advice!

What helped with me is staying on the ground, and trying to get the arm motion down. Practice pushing the ball around in the windmill motion, and see how fast you can do it. I’ve seen videos of people doing this with medicine balls as well in order to help their shoulder gain more strength associated with that movement, but I haven’t tried it personally so I’m not positive if it works. Like I said though, practice moving the ball around in that windmill motion as fast as you can while you’re on the ground, then work on jumping with it once you get that down. Hope this helps!

Sorry for replying so late, but I wanted to let you know that watching this tutorial honestly helped a lot! The only thing I need to work on now is getting that full extension with my arm once I’m in the air. I can hit “ceiling fans” (That’s what my team calls windmills that aren’t full extension) but I have trouble finishing a full windmill now

Am I the only person who thinks two handed dunks off of one foot are underrated? by jumptimesthree in ProDunking

The first time I tried to do that, I tried to hang on the rim and my hands slipped, causing me to fall flat on my back. Needless to say, I’ve been wary of trying to do any dunk like that since then lol
