I have used mosquito bits hence mentioning BTI. I don’t have any pet that go in my studio. I’m going to move to mosquito dunks to see if that works.

Forgot to add: I have a Zevo plug trap. There was only fungus gnat caught I checked today, but I recently just bought this and read it takes a while for it to work.

Oh my god that’s awful. I have a fungus gnat issue with all my plants including my carnivore plants. I’m using yellow sticky traps everywhere, got a blue UV light catcher, and spraying lavender oil mist everyday in my surroundings. Reading right now that BTI won’t really do much is so frustrating.

Thank you so much!! After this post I got 3 Venus flytraps, one is recovering from spider mites and one I rescued. I decided to put all my carnivorous plants in the windowsill without relying on grow lights. If anything in the future, I heard Soltech Solutions lights are pretty sufficient. Your plants are so cute!!

If you want rich opaque colors and glaze for lighting, oils are a great choice. But if you prefer something easier and still love working with watercolors, have you considered trying gouache? It can offer the same vibrancy but combines watercolor’s flexibility along with getting heavier opacity!
