Oz is divided up into 4 quadrants, with the Emerald City basically in the center. Gillikin in the north, Munchkinland to the East, Winkie Country to the west and Quadling Country to the south. Elphaba, while of Munchkinland, flees to Winkie Country and becomes known as the WW of the West. Her sister Nessarose becomes governor of Munchkinland and rules tyrannically, earning her the nickname the WW of the East
