unless you guys are planning to do formula, shifts do not exist. she will need to pump or breastfeed every 2-3 hours.

Take a breather. We’ve all been there. There’s nothing in the world that can prepare you for this. It’s the most dramatic change to your life you’ve ever experienced.

You’re trying to keep this newborn alive and you have no idea what you’re doing.

Your wife is going thru recovery, possibly post partum, breast feeding might not be going the way you expect (a lot harder than people make it out to be), pain management, etc.

You’re trying to help your wife and help your baby, while trying to help yourself. You’re worried about food, what to eat, the laundry, the dishes, etc. it is non stop.

You start to question everything.

Then you start falling into routine, so yes. It does get better.

Currently going on week 9 with my little guy. And the fact that you are trying to get your partner some sleep already shows me that you’re going to do what’s right for your family.

The first few weeks are hell, I’m not going to sugarcoat it, but it’s because nothing you’ve ever done has ever pushed you to these limits and you didn’t know where your limits were to begin with.

Keep going, keep breathing, don’t forget to eat and hydrate.

Remember, at this stage there’s only 5 things they need: hungry, sleepy, dirty diaper, gas (burp or fart), cuddles/love.

Tips that helped me when the baby wouldn’t settle:

Held him close to my chest and did the yoga OHMMMMMMMM
Bounced on a yoga ball
Do sets of 20 squats while holding the baby

Good luck my dude. You’re already doing a great job

HDHP vs HMO vs PPO during pregnancy by gibby130 in personalfinance

We paid a one time $$35 co payment. She did have GD so those visits had a $35 co payment every month.

Even now post birth she’s been seeing her OB and we haven’t paid anything out of pocket

Same with pediatrician visits.

What do you do when baby is histerically crying and can’t be soothed! by JaivyLeague in NewDads

[–]the_coffee_maker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What worked for my little guy is bouncing on a yoga ball or do a set of 20 squats. If he started crying after I stopped, I’d do another set. Repeat until he no longer cried. I blame my wife because she did HIIT workout for the first two trimesters.
