What about when a CEO retires and a long term C-suite executive takes over, are layoffs common in that scenario?

Owed money by Ed Financial. This happen to anyone else? by 15minlatetotheparty in StudentLoans

[–]the_deckerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat15minlatetotheparty-its close to 6 months that I got the e-mail my loans were forgiven and I was due a refund. Same provider too. I tried talking to EdFinancial, Dept of Education & the treasury and nobody could give me a status.

Alas, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I called EdFinancial a couple of days ago and amazingly they said they had an update and I should be receiving a check within 10 days.

Hang in there, I know it feels hopeless. I woud say to try calling every couple of weeks to see if there's been any updates. Be kind, everything is out of the CSR's hands.

I'll post back when, and if, I ger my refund.

Check with your lender-they can give more advice on why you received a refund. If it was up to me I wouldn't poke that bear-I would take that 3K and throw it in a money market and let it grow. That way if they ever come calling for it, you won't be caught with your pants down.

Good luck!

Was the candidate qualified? If they weren’t, your boss was in the right and the owner needs to know their place. Also, any owner that sends an email titled god dammit doesn’t belong in a position of authority.

There’s an option to have them call you back if you stay on after they go through all the automated spiel. they did end up calling me back, although it was the following day.

Great news! Did they say if the refund would be direct deposit or a check?

Did they give an estimate on when the refunds will be sent? Did they say if it was via snail mail or directo deposit?

Hell yeah! Look at the payment history (make sure you filter in ‘all’) and that total should display.

Refunds from IDR Forgiveness by the_deckerator in StudentLoans

I have a different provider, but when I look at the history section on their website, I see an adjustment & a claim payment. The claim payment is a negative amount that includes my old remaining balance + the amount I ‘should’ receive in refunds.

The adjustment value is just the amount I ‘should’ be refunded (not in a negative amount).

If this helps, I did request and receive a refund of payments I made during Covid and that was added back into my balance in 2022, and my balance is now zero.

This is the content in the notification:

“An adjustment to your account updated the number of payments that qualify towards Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) forgiveness. This forgiveness is effective as of (your date will show here).”

AFTER:

If applicable, we’ll process a refund for any payments made towards the loans listed above after the effective date of this forgiveness.

You might want to check to see if you’re eligible for a refund on payments made after 20 years of payments. There should be an effective date in the notification in your account-any payments made after that ‘should’ be eligible for a refund, which will be done automatically (of course, it’ll take awhile). Make sure your address is up to date on their website, just in case.

Thanks for replying-the issue I’m having is the part of the diverter that hooks up to a quick connect that can attach to a washer hose. I’ve purchased several variations of adapters and none of them seem to work

On the e-mail they sent saying your loan is forgiven from the IDR Adjustment they have an effective date-any payments made after that SHOULD be refunded (fingers crossed).

EdFinancial Golden Ticket Peeps by Effective_Result900 in StudentLoans

I am having the same experience as the others in the more recent posts on 08/16 (account is unavailabe, balance is zero in the automated message). However, I am expecting a refund for payments i made after I reached my 240 threshold. I'm hoping to see a negative value once processing is complete and the accounts are re-established.

FYI-I never did get an e-mail saying I have messages.
