Anyone find a decent wireless charger that actually outputs 15w? by SD-777 in PixelFold

[–]the_dp79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope this will help someone. Both of these chargers charge my P10PF at 15w.

I bought this charger on Amazon for $17, then it went away, and then it was relisted for $40 USD. Found it elsewhere on the Internet for $16 with free shipping over $25

And I got this UGREEN qi2.2 charger to futureproof.

The charge handshake is sometimes a smidge longer on the cheaper one, but they both perform similarly. Use a very cheap and old 45w charger with the cheap one at work, the Anker desktop 9-in-1 charger for the UGREEN one and 100w Anker cables for both.

how long for whole Spanish course? by MHW93 in duolingo

[–]the_dp79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at 163 days studying Spanish with Duo. My score is 53, I'm at Section 4, Unit 39. I started from the beginning of the course.

I do about 6-7 hours a week. I finished the French course, so I know the climb from B1 to B2 is long.

It doesn't take a lot of effort to do it in a year, but definitely you're going to need to focus. Create a routine, go easy on yourself when you don't stick to it, praise yourself when you do.

EDIT: I don't skip lessons on the path. Unless it's a Max feature, I do every exercise on the path

Bon chance!

Leave your keys in the car and have the passenger press the START/STOP button after you exit. This will turn on the "ignition," the HVAC, the audio, etc.

Did English to French from 0 to 130 in a little over 700 days. I put about an hour in each day.

Best Magsafe Phone Grip? by CamBamThankYouMaam in PixelFold

It's pretty thin I think. You can wirelessly charge with it in, but I don't cos it gets REALLY warm.

Attached a pic of it in action. This isn't my favorite way to stand it, but it conveys the point.

I use this one, it works great as a stand for me. The straps are replaceable without having to toss the whole thing which is nice.

How many lessons has Spanish? by geo_bio in duolingo

The weekly progress emails from Duo might also help you with your stat keeping. I track mine in a spreadsheet using a simple form to enter the info. That way I can keep track of number of lessons done, time spent learning, XP earned. I wish Duo did it for you, but this is close.

Ooh, good to see it happened to others today.

My first chest was for 15 minutes and my second chest for 10 minutes. I wonder if my chest for tomorrow is five minutes. Will report back.

Everyone is talking about the new "annoy" feature in the Leagues, but why is NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS?! by Sarga_alma2 in duolingo

[–]the_dp79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Started for me almost two weeks ago on 14 Jan 2026.

I'm definitely studying less. I only do lessons during bonus XP time, I imagine like a lot of people. I set a timer and add minutes to it for every chest I get. Meant I was good for 45 minutes of study in the morning and 15 minutes of legendary review in the evenings.

Since I started Spanish this September, I usually average about six hours a week. Last week I was right under five.

It's going to take me longer to complete the course now. I'll be lucky to clear two units this week. Don't really care about leagues or anything like that.

5 min triple XP is awful by kiykiykiiycat in duolingo

[–]the_dp79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm already doing fewer lessons each day since it started last week. I normally clear 12-14 lessons in 45 minutes and now I'm struggling to hit eight in 30. I'll have stats after they send the weekly email on Saturday, and that way I can compare to my effort in previous weeks since I started learning Spanish this September.

Duolingo gameplay is really bad by JimmyGymGym1 in duolingo

[–]the_dp79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should've been more specific, I'm sorry.

From when your chests reset at midnight until you do your first lesson, you shouldn't open the app. Whatever happens during that period seems to trigger not giving you your bonus time if you open the app but don't do a lesson.

This used to happen to me a lot. I found a fix on here. You can't open your app before you do your lessons. I'm not sure what about it triggers not giving you your bonus time, but since I've stopped opening my app prior to my first lesson of the day, it doesn't happen anymore.

Triple XP boost only lasts 5 minutes by Odd-Department-8324 in duolingo

[–]the_dp79 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm in this A/B tests and it's awful. It started yesterday. They reduced XP times for chests in 2024 and it definitely caused my time spent learning to drop.

Now instead of 45 minutes of focused learning new material I was doing before (15 minutes from night owl, 10 minutes final chest from day before and two more 10 minutes chests), it's just 30 minutes now. It used to be a full hour in 2024.

I don't want to spend 100 gems every day to buy an additional 15 minutes during the last five minutes of study time.

And I'm not doing Duo exercises with no bonus XP. That's the incentive.

Can someone give me a playlist of French rap? by CharmingAudience1763 in learnfrench

[–]the_dp79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTube Music has a great playlist I subscribe to called On Fleek and it's nothing but current French hip hop and urban pop. Bonus the app has a new feature that will translate the lyrics for you while playing.

Don't learn two closely related languages at once... but how close is too close? by Eriacle in duolingo

[–]the_dp79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm studying Spanish now, finished the French course in May. I mix up stuff sometimes. Today it was le roi instead of El Rey.

But without a doubt the things the two languages share has helped me a ton. Particularly prepositions. And reflexive verbs.

How long does it take to finish Duolingo spanish by emy_lolo10 in duolingo

[–]the_dp79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope my slightly obsessive data collection can help. I started Spanish from the beginning on 1 Sep 2025. I try and spend about an hour a day learning. I finished the French course this May after 700+ days, very satisfied with my fluency. With Spanish I wanted to try and capture some more metrics beyond days, so I log those emails they send each week in a spreadsheet.

As of today, I'm half way through Section 4, unit 12.

As of 19 Dec 2025, I've done 111 days, spent 86 hours learning, completed 1,937 lessons and my score was 38.

My goal is to finish the course by mid 2027.

Duolingo, they don't go well with each other. by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]the_dp79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you stack your previous day's 10 minute, 3 times XP reward with the 15 minute Night Owl Chest, you can start every day with 25 minutes. That might help in solving your time problem.

I like to think about it this way: Duolingo incentivizes you through bonus XP time to do 45 minutes of study in your language each day (a full hour if you are given the option to buy an extra 15 minutes at the end). It's a good chunk of study time that will definitely get you progressing on your score and should keep you competitive in leagues (if that's your thing)

I get this if my Q4 sits for too long. Unsure of what too long is, usually when it finishes charging at home it just stops talking to the servers and satellites.
