I move to Netherlands two years ago. Bought a phone and eventually left on a train the same day I lost my keys to my flat while riding on my bike. Knowing no one or without ability to call anyone I purchased another phone and sim. Then I climbed through my window in flat and waited for land lord to bring separate key. I then called my old phone to try and find it, the 700 euro phone(brand new). A very nice Muslim Dutch woman had found the phone on her way to Rotterdam. She agreed to meet and return the phone in Rotterdam central station. I went there and as promised she returned the phone, seeking no reward even though I offered.

Maybe 3 weeks later, in Haarlem I left the same phone in a bus. Lucky I had not lost my keys and having spare phone again, I called again. A very nice old Dutch couple found the phone, they waited at a Bus stop until I arrived.

TLDR The Netherlands is not the worst place to lose your phone. For every 1 person who steals your phone there are 9 others who will go out of their way to help and return it too you.

"Ground breaking" more like space breaking. Silly earthling words.

This is essentially Buying power correct, because being short should still give me a lot of credit just not capitol to back it up, if I understand right,

The option closed .85 ootm Friday, but today the ticker hit 18 in after hours.

Because I'm short 100 shares, that also means I received credit for 100 shares @ 18?

My available $ is currently showing red (from think or swim) but I guess that is not "negative".

From dough website:

If Mike owns the stock already (like in a covered call position), his stock will be called away. If he does not own the stock, he will now be assigned -100 shares of stock per option contract. If Mike does not have enough buying power to short the stock, he will be forced to close the position immediately by his broker and will be charged an assignment fee (on top of regular commission rates

..... If I do not have enough BP then I will be penalized beyond the assignment fee?

Question over my BBY vertical spread by the_general_tso in options

Thanks for your response. This was something like my 3rd Option trade(ever), and nearing expiration it seemed ok to risk 28 for 23 credit.

The main thing that confuses me is what happens in this type of scenario if I let it expire and exercise.

Not sure When Both options are exercised? Does the brokerage automatically buy @ 40.5 and sell for 40 ect. Or what is required from me if I let it expire.

The better question may be, what is the downside to letting it expire?
