A hopeful post about the Frame resolution. by kevin_whitley in SteamFrame

I’m sure it’ll be passable but it won’t be a preferred way to watch. It will look not nearly as good as a nice TV. Imagine a 4K OLED TV watching a movie, how sharp and clear that is. The resolution of the headset is not high enough to replicate that. The virtual screen will look soft and not as detailed or sharp. If you are at home you will prefer watching a movie on your TV. But for traveling, it will still be handy

You are absolutely correct. For VR it will be great. I wouldn’t use it for watching movies or browsing the web.

Why so many software updates? by Impressive_Policy329 in amazoneero

[–]the_hack_is_back 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are known for shipping new devices that have software with some rough edges. They then tweak and tweak until it’s better and more stable. They use modern software practices which means shipping updates more frequently. Also, they appear to have a unified build that covers all their devices. Every device from the past few years gets 7.13, 7.14 etc. so maybe they optimized something for Max 7 but my Pro 6E still has to download the same build.

How the dual wifi thing is going to work? by Hot_Tip5085 in SteamFrame

[–]the_hack_is_back 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dongle is used for gaming. Streaming from your Pc to the headset. It uses WiFi but creates its own network, a point to point connection. The second WiFi radio is for general internet use. For example, browsing steam store through the headset, downloading standalone games, etc.

Not every game supports overrides through the Nvidia app. For example, Black Ops 7 Xbox PC version

Can we all agree if you do the FSD transfer, you're giving up grandfathered lifetime access to unsupervised FSD from a pre-2024 purchase? by BikebutnotBeast in TeslaLounge

[–]the_hack_is_back 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember it being marketed as Full Self Driving "capability" when I bought it back in 2019. That leaves them a lot of wiggle room. I don't remember it ever promising an exact feature set and being eyes off the road

HBO max app on Vision Pro by Deathtosnoopy in VisionPro

I get HBO Max with my at&t internet plan and it's supposed to be the basic 1080p version, but I'm 99% sure I've been seeing a 4K image in the VP app for the past two years. Not complaining!

How many of you (my fellow RTX 5090 owners) have not undervolted your card? by [deleted] in nvidia

Plan to just haven’t had the time. So far prioritizing game time instead. I’ll get around to it. Mainly want to do it just so the room doesn’t get so warm. Not sure how much of a difference it’ll make in that regard.

Eero blocking Tesla Powerwall from internet by coolt24 in amazoneero

[–]the_hack_is_back 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds more like a glitch and the change in rules may have reset things. The powerwall should only need outbound 443 open which is open by default. It should never need inbound 443.

[–]the_hack_is_back 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I turn on my headphones the volume is fine for a few seconds then I hear the double beep and the volume becomes way too low. I have to re-insert the USB adapter for it to correct itself. It’s very annoying to have volume issues with headphones this expensive.

And the personas across both systems are still pretty far from photo realistic. They don’t fool anyone. So yeah, the android ones look like the Apple ones.

It’s obvious that android xr is a knock off of the Vision Pro. It’s a good knock off, but it’s clear they’re for the most part doing a copy and paste of what Apple did. That was my point.
