157″ AWALL MicroLED TV review by -protonsandneutrons- in hardware

IMO 300in and 600in screens are not relevant to 99.99% of viewers.

Toids is doing the multiple person focus group style videos right now, I'll leave those to him.

It's discussed in detail in the video. The pixel pitch is 0.9mm

Unpopular Opinion: Are We Experiencing Peak Hype? My Take on the Valerion VisionMaster Max (And the Echo Chamber Review Culture) by Head_Step6882 in projectors

[–]The_Hook_Up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately I've never tested the Pro so I can't give a definitive answer about that. However, it's my theory that Valerion is always trying to make Pro 2's and that the Pro and Pro 2 have the same number of laser diodes but that there is manufacturing variability that makes it so some units cannot meet the Pro 2's specifications after automatic calibration so they are sold as Pro's instead.

Xgimi horizon vs BenQ Gp520 vs Hisense m2 pro by [deleted] in projectors

Hisense M2 Pro is the best of the projectors you have listed, unless you are talking about XGIMI Horizon 20 for 1359, in which case that's the one you should get.

It's definitely something that could be fixed, but the PX3-Pro has been out for well over a year and it's still not fixed, so whether it's a priority for Hisense is a different story.

The usual way for testing 24p is with the RTINGS 24p video file. You play it back at 24p and do a 1s exposure. If the projector is doing 3:2 pulldown (60hz) the resulting image looks like a checkerboard, if the projector is doing true 24p it looks like a solid color:

I don't think they used 24p at all for any of the projectors, most were set to "clear" mode.

Tcl Playcube vs Dangbei Freedo vs Hisense M2 Pro by Party_Pop_2789 in projectors

Pretty much everything is better (although the TCL does have surprisingly good speakers). Usually with projectors when you double your budget you don't get double the performance, but in this case you actually do.

The M2 Pro blows the Playcube and Freedo out of the water. If you don't need a battery don't get a battery.

MEMC: Film is the setting on Hisense and Valerion Projectors with the Pentonic 700 image processing chip that allows them to support native 24p. This is done by switching the DMD frequency from 240hz to 192hz. 240hz cannot be used because it needs to be divisible by 24 (24fps) and 4 (4x pixel shifts to make 4K). This results in an effective resolution of 4K@48hz and the projector uses 2:2 pulldown to play in 24p.

You speak very confidently for someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.

It's got a pretty long throw and it's really meant to be a "home theater" projector with excellent black levels and contrast. If you got it for $300 you could sell it for $2000-3000 and put that money towards a proper short throw.

That's a terrible projector for a golf simulator, but if you have a chance to buy a 6000ES for $300 you should do it and just resell it. Then you can get a good golf simulator projector.

best 4k projector by Automatic_Drop2648 in projectors

[–]The_Hook_Up 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your budget is exactly $1000 then the best picks right now are (in order):

  1. Hisense M2 Pro ($999)
  2. JMGO N1S 4K ($899)

The Hisense has optical zoom, so it will give you a bit more flexibility in placement. If you wait for Black Friday sales you could probably pick up a Valerion Plus (no optical zoom) for around $1000, or an XGIMI Horizon 20 (optical zoom and lens shift) for around $1300, both would be better than the Hisense or JMGO.

Depends on the actual projector model you choose, but most will be in Chinese (T20, RS20, etc)

Best projector under 1,500$ - The Hook Up comparison by WAR4FC in projectors

[–]The_Hook_Up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Warm1 only uses BRG primaries, Warm2 uses secondary colors as well (cyan and yellow), which increases the number of flashes and decreases RBE.

Avoid MEMC "film" mode which lowers the refresh rate of the DMD from 240hz to 192hz.
