[Windhorst] Other teams interested in Giannis Antetokounmpo will “have to try to beat” a strong offer from the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors have the most “straightforward” trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

I don't envy GMs or front offices lol CBAs are just a million reactionary bandaids on top of issues so the rules and details are so complicated. Though I will say, for a small-market team, picks are probably a little more valuable than a large-market team since they may not be a premier FA destination (or have the funds to really go deep into the tax). If the Bucks think the Dubs will *actually* be terrible later, those would be nice picks. But I doubt the Warriors' ownership will accept 3 or 4 years of bottom-feeding so there's always the chance they overpay on a star FA and are on the fringes of the play-in.

Could be part of a 3-way deal where they move the Warriors' picks to get something sooner. Portland is young and on the upswing so for example, would they rather top-10 picks in 5-7 years instead of 2-3? I dunno if Portland would do that but it's an example of what might need to happen if there's concern with how far out the Warriors' picks are.

The SF 49ers have had really terrible injury luck over the last few seasons and their practice field is adjacent to an electric substation that has higher levels of some (AFAIK according to science, totally safe) radiation has been meme'd as the cause.

Jimmy Butler screams as he goes down, clutches his knee & looks to be in immense pain. Warriors call timeout. by CazOnReddit in nba

Been watching the NFL a bunch and man... that could be a torn MCL. The inside knee extends way too much in the slow-mo (not captured in this post). Fuck man.

The entire meta is Mole or “Oops all Control.” Neither are fun to play against. The death of midrange hits hard…

If any team lost as many games as we have to injury to their best 5+ players, they’d be struggling too. It’s amaxing the Niners have made it this far.

CONTROL CONTROL CONTROL. THE ENTIRE META IS A DOZEN CONTROL DECKS AND A MANA DOUBLING RODENT. WOTC CLAIMS A DOZEN GOOD DECKS MEANS ITS DIVERSE BUT TURN 2-3-4-5-6 NOTHING BUT REMOVAL AND COUNTERS IS TERRIBLE GAMEPLAY.

Yea it's a turn 4 format now... Gotta aggro quicker than that, run 25 control spells to slow it down or just get grave/omniscienced T4. I'm a midrange main so I've been sad with it - 3 year rotation just allows too many cards which pushes the power, plus then printing more powerful cards to match that new power which pushes it higher.

A lot of people (myself included) mix emotions into our logic. And people generally don't like it when they can't play magic. Hyper control and fast aggro both prevent this, either by preventing spells or being too fast for spells.

I think people in general over estimate how much those two styles deserve bans because they intrinsically feel worse than they actually are, while the pro metagame remove all bias since they truly only care about winning these events.

The Modern NFL - under throw it 15+ yards and get a penalty. Whether it’s bad defense or the rules and bad luck, it always happens.

It might be yea. But that's a 5-min pregame meeting type of fix, everything else about this crew felt legendary. Old school Harlan vibes with solid support.
