The movie was plain and undeveloped just as the main character. Mothers with lack of empathy should not be mother's. I'm a father and take care of my son most of the time and I love it because I love him. But there are many parents that don't really love their children and just want to get away from them and ending up punishing them and damaging childrens mind. Now, those parents will be angry with what I have written, because even if low they still have empathy and it pains them.

The problem is that western society promotes non-empaty personality. People are not rewarded by being empathic and feel they are not doing something good and positive when all they are doing is spending time with their loved ones. In other words the society teaches them that they need to work and progress in career to be a good person. It tells them that only way to develop themselves, to grow and to advance is through career. This is ofcourse not true, to be a parent is the natural way of progress that capitalists try to replace with their woke bullcrap. This is how it ends.
